Premier Auto Detailing by Evan: Audi A3 PPF Removal, Full Polish, Opti-Coat & Xpel PPF
I was asked by a customer of mine to take a look at his Audi A3 and see what I thought about his PPF and I was also asked to give an estimate for the paint correction as well.
When I looked at the PPF that was put on the car about a month ago I was shocked that it looked so bad. When I was looking at the film it was very foggy and didn't have the smooth blend in look that most have. My first initial thought was the film was placed over first paint and that it was decontaminated with a clay bar first. So at this point I called my buddy who owns his own clear bra installation to see about setting up a removal and a new clear bra after the car was detailed. We got everything lined up and made a day to get it all done.
Exterior:
Wheels:
1Z Colour Tech Wheel Cleaner
Meguiar's Non Acidic Wheel and tire cleaner for the tires
Meguiars APC+ for the wheel wells
I use and assortment of brushes
Paint:
Washed with Chemical Guys Citrus wash Red
IronX
Decontamination with Speedy Prep Towel
Compunded with Meguairs MF cutting pad and FG400
Polished with a foam finishing pad and SF4000
Surfaced cleaned with CarPro Eraser
Opti-coat appiled
Wheel wells dressed with Meguiars Hyper Dressing
Tires dressed with Optimum Opti-bond
Here are some photos of the original clear bra that was on the vehicle:
In this photo you can see what is called silvering and in the PPF industry this is a huge no no when it comes to applying the film.
In this photo you can the the hood and the fender do to match up. One is longer than the other.
Overall very foggy and has a hazed look
Located a hair under the film
More of the silvering
Time to remove the with with help from Adam the owner of Prestige Auto Armor
After the film was removed time to do an aggressive wash

During the course of correcting this paint I came across some cut marks from the the first PPF and these thing were bad. I have never seen anything like this before and to be cutting on the paint just is unreal:

In reference to the clear bra removal...noticed you did not mention anything about residue or adhesive.....I recently did a removal on a GT-R 3m clear ....and that was a mess on the residue....but, I knew how to take care of it. I just noticed it look like it came off with nothing left behind.
