1998 Honda CRV-- Helping Mom Out

Woke up early this morning to try and help my mom bring a little life back to her paint. This was my first time working on an older car and one that did not belong to me.

    Before Pics:

Driver Side Door -- This is the overall condition of the vehicle summarized in one door. Did not ever see a garage for 10 years. Never been clayed to my knowledge either.

    Hood

    Front Tire

Passenger Door - You can see this weird scratch she had down the entire passenger side of the car.

Not looking good. I washed, removed contaminants with a medium grade nanoskin sponge, then got to work with the machine. I used UC on a Tangerine Hydrotech pad.

    After:

Driver Side Door - Cleared up a lot. Didn't remove everything I wanted, but you can't ask for more on a 10 year daily driver.

    Hood

    Passenger Door(no more scratch!)

    Body Shot

    Up Close Paint

    Thanks for reading.

Great work, what a turn around! That metallic really pops. I bet your mom will be thrilled with the results. I love the old CR-V's, they last forever!

Turn arounds like this are fueling my passion to keep learning more about detailing. Problem is my weekends and money are disappearing. Thanks for posting!

I hear ya. Remember, you can get by with spending less money on new products if you focus on technique and work with what you've got!
