    2006 Mustang GT (black)

i finally got some time off of work and got myself a PC 7424XP and went to work. My car is a daily driver and i don't normally have the time to take care of the finish like i should but now after all this work i doubt ill be letting it go again. i still have a ways to go and this was my first time ever polishing a car so the finish isnt as perfect as id like but it is a DRASTIC improvement from before!

    Process:
Wash w/ 2 bucket method with grit guards
    Clay
    Megs 105 & 205
    Megs #7 glaze
    Megs Gold Class Liquid Wax

    Before:

the clay after just a portion of the hood:

    After:

This is what the typical daily driver does look like and the photos really show how washing, sun, wind, airborne dust and dirt affect the finish.

I'm glad you added the shot of the clay after working on just one panel. Because of a lack of experience many feel that the claying step is sort of a waste of time if they'll be polishing the finish.

After claying the hood and showing them the embedded particles the clay removed they were shocked! Imagine grinding this dirt deeper into the paint!

    Good choice of products!

The Mustang is like night and day from where it started and I'm sure you're very pleased with the results!!

Fantastic transformation man! I just did my first detail a couple of weeks ago - satisfying isn't it? And once you've gone through the process you never want to let your vehicle get that dirty again. That stang looks awesome, very nice job!

Looks great! Congrats on your first time polishing. Soon you'll be looking at everything thing and saying to yourself "I bet I could get those swirls out!" lol I look at the refrigerator, washer/dryer and the metal cabinets at work and I think I might try some #205 on them and see what I can do lol

looks like a pro did the work, not a newby! outstanding job on a black finish which shows all the negatives.
