    1998 Black Honda Prelude

Well, started at 7:30 AM on my neighbor's Prelude. What I thought was going to be easy, turned out to be a little frustrating. I felt I could not get off the scratches and what I think was water etching. Weird, it just looked like these things were below a "surface" and I could not reach them.

I did the exterior and interior (sorry no interior pics) - It was dirty on the inside!!!

Well, for my first black car - here is what I did:

    Wash:
3 Bucket (1 for the wheels and tires)
Dodo Juice Born to be Mild
    Blew dry the entire car

    Wheels & Tires
    Sonax Wheel Cleaner
    Optimum Metal Polish

    Clay
    Meguiare's
    Dodo Juice BornSlippy
    Then rinsed the entire car
    Blew dry again

    Polish:
    Porter Cable
    Wolfgang Swirl Remover
    LC Cyan
    Wolfgang Finishing
    LC Tangerine

    Sealant:
    Porter Cable
    Menz Power Lock
    LC Red Pad

    Exterior:
    All Trim: UTTG
Exhaust Pipes, Wheels, Grill: Optimum Metal Polish
    Tires: Optimum Opti-Bond Gel
    Windows: Stoners

    Interior:
    Windows: Stoners
    Poorboy's World Natural Look
    Meguiars Leather
    Poorboy's Pina Colada Air Freshener

lol posting since yesterday about this car and your frustrations (your WG SR was still scratching the paint).

However the end result looks fantastic.

Thanks, I just think when you get real close, you see the imperfections. Since I am newbie, it was frustrating not to achieve like some of the results I see here. I understand that those folks have tons of experience and knowledge - I just could not understand why the scratches and etchings stayed...

    black cars are not easy

but they sure clean up nice... thumbs up
I told my wife that a husband is like a fine wine; he gets better with age. The next day, she locked me in the cellar.

Like the pros says on the forums if its a daily driver a 90% > correction is good enough.
Like that area under the headlight is a lost cause since its down to the bumper itself. The white area with paint transfer once removed probably had a spider webbing of cracks and scratches. Just nothing you can do unless the owner is willing to pay for a respray.

and once again Cane great job for a Joe
