Re: 1975 Vinyl Seats - Extreme Makeover

I've used OPC with a hit of steam and have gotten great results on dirty leather and vinyl seats. Is there a reason why steam wasn't used?

Umm.... I did these at my house in Southern California and didn't have a steam cleaner readily available?

Regardless, the seats came out great. I wish I would have kept them...

Who was it that said all Mike knew how to do was polish paint. Pretty amazing interior work if you ask me.

    Ha ha...

I just "enjoy" the hard work and risk of polishing paint...

And instill that in your students as well. But, I do enjoy interiors as well.

=) They look great. The only reason I asked was that I thought maybe the age or type of vinyl might have come into play against using one. I picked up one of the AG Vapamores a couple of months ago and have been using it on multiple surfaces with great results but I'm still really careful with it since I don't have enough experience using it.

    Hey Mike,
    That's a fantastic result!
Your post gives good details of how you used M40 but, with respect to the actual cleaning, it only seems to show before and after.
I'd like to use Meguiar’s All Purpose Cleaner for a similar application.
Can you please share details of tge process here or profide a link?
In particular, would you spray down an area, leave for a bit and then scrub and rinse? If so, how long would you leave for.
I have for bench style boat seats to clean tgey are in very good condition except for 50 odd years of accumulated grime. They have large white sections which look similar to heavy nicotine staining so I wouls really appreciate any assistance.
    Thanks Mike,
    Scott
