1988 Porsche Get's made beautiful again....

So this weekend the car I helped bring roll back time on is one from my high school years of dreaming about cars. A beautiful and so timeless, 1988 Porsche Carerra. A car I dreamed about and drooled over at the car shows with my dad. This one is owned by my friend Sean. He has the time and skill to do mechanically to cars what I do visually. I wish I had his talent and ability but instead, I'll stick to making things he makes run good and new, look good and new.

I forget the mileage but it's up there and with good reason. This type of car NEEDS and DESERVES to be driven and it does. The cool thing about so many of my friends is that they actually drive and enjoy their cars. No garage queen here, this one is a queen on the road and now she looks the part.

Looking over the car, it was very well cared for and possesses all it's original single-stage pure black paint. Sean was pretty simple and straightforward with the goal here to make it easy to clean and shine. Swirls and imperfections were there but not on the top of his list of worries. However, I knew with even just a basic polish and protect, I could make this beauty look great. That was my goal. Lastly, inside, I took the Tornador Velocity Vac system and removed all the carpet and anything embedded in it from 1988 and set it back in time too. Leather and interior panels were cleaned and dressed too.

The results were if I say so, pure awesome and so much fun. The paint polished out easily, maintained its thickness and integrity yet got darn near perfect correction but I'll leave it at 90% just to keep myself in check. The coating went on great, so she's wearing a 3-year ceramic on the paint and wheels. The Trim was restored and coated to stay dark, not grey and the glass was polished and coated so water leaves it just like the paint.

Many thanks to Sean for the trust in my work and for putting this vehicle on the road for all to see. Truly a piece of art that loves to run. Now onto some after picks with a couple of before shots to show where she started.

Polished with a Flex 3401, White Hex Logic Polish Pads, GYEON Primer and then topped with GYEON Mohs EVO to lock it all in. Trim done with CarPro Dlux and wheels with GYEON Q2 RIM.

Amazing work as usual! Great to hear this beauty gets driven. I truly believe some cars are works of art, but should not be treated like paintings where you just look at it and admire it, you need to DRIVE it and admire it!

    Looks great.

Albeit maybe a tit messy, I really like doing single stage paint and love the look of it when done.

I just want to point out that I liked your paragraph about the car being driven and that the car wasn’t a garage queen. And then I saw the car on the back of the trailer.

Nice job. Just wondering what coating you used on the glass and windshield.

He came from nearly 50 minutes away. Trailer enables him to come alone and drive back towing an empty trailer.

Not a coating. No longer in production but I used Rust Oleum's Never Wet for Glass. They killed the product but it's a shame as it's killer. Going to likely keep the last part of my last bottle for my own cars. Haven't decided what I'll use going forward.
