My first "big kid" ceramic coating

I finally gathered up the courage to do a "real" coating. I mean me and my (few) customers have been more than happy with the witches brew of hybrid ceramic coatings I come up with, and I always prep their car like they were getting a true coating anyway. I just needed to take that next step in my skills. I'm delighted to say after a 24 hours of Robert Smithing.....it came out great. No rainbow s or highspots. I probably shouldn't have started with Carpro Cquartz Sic due to you having to know Calculus just to know when it flashes. But oh well, I'm just glad I jumped that hurddle. Without that knowledge Id never be able to offer this as a package and charge an additional 4-5 hundred bucks a job. I'll take the win. Also, Carpro needs to figure out this flash timing thing.

Could have just eased into something like Gyeon Cancoat Evo and made things much easier, lol. Simple to apply. Long term durability. And you could still probably charge the same since it a genuine coating.

Also, Carpro needs to figure out this flash timing thing.

Flash times are different for every coating and they vary widely based on weather/atmospheric conditions. Any vendor can only give you general guidance. Some coating's we've seen reviewed here don't even flash at all.

If I have any doubt about flashing, I'll do a "smear test". After letting the coating sit for 2~3 minutes, I'll give a spot a light swipe with my finger. If it smears, I'll let it sit a little longer. If it comes off clean-ish, then I'll buff it off.
