Early Fathers Day Detail - BF One Step Topped With the PBL Diamond Surface Coating
Recently I read an article written by Mike titled https://www.autogeekonline.net/forum...vy-impala.html
I found the article to be quite interesting and was interested in utilizing this procedure for my customers vehicles in the future, so I decided to gift my wife's dad an early father's day gift as his truck was the perfect candidate for the job.
He recently bought the truck after many years of driving around old beaters. I was so exited for him when he finally got a new truck!
Thankfully the dealership didn't detail it when they bought the truck as they had been waiting around for an extended period of time, so they just decided to take the truck home after they purchasing process was complete.
Thankfully I had the opportunity to give him and his truck the detail they deserved!
Now let me give some due credit to my wife as she detailed a good majority of the interior while I prepped for the exterior the night before. It was really nice having the family in the shop spending time together!
The truck had lots of light swirls, scratches, water spots, oxidation, and some deeper scratches in some areas
I washed the truck utilizing the DP Coating Prep Wash to remove any old waxes or sealants, and to help prep for the following steps
DP Coating Prep Wash
After this I did the baggie test to confirm the presence of above surface bonded contaminants, clayed, and then did a final panel prep with the PBL Diamond Surface Prep
Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Surface Prep Spray 8 oz.

Then I went to town polishing the truck with my FLEX BEAST, Rupes Yellow CP pads and The BF ONE Step!
This should get you started! Select the HD Version, so you can get the longer power cord! It's absolutely AMAZING!

After all of that hard work I applied the PBL Diamond surface coating as Mike teaches in his article here:

https://www.autogeek.net/diamond-surface-coating.html
Heres a couple of video captures of the after results!
In my opinion that truck looked like a metallic Cherry Glass when I got done, and to my eyes it seems as though the paint looked even glossier after the coating had cured for the recommended cure time of 12 hours
The bottle says: "Allow to cure for 12 hours before exposing to moisture."

One last photo after I got done really late that night
Here's a couple her dad sent me when he picked up his truck!
He was so happy with his truck! One of my happiest customers yet!!! This is the message he sent me later that day!
This is definitely a process I will be using on my customers vehicles in the future! Thank you for your article Mike! I was totally blown away with the results!

Nice! You should do a show and shine article when you get it completed or PM me some pics! I'd really like to see the results!
