and welcome to the flex club. LOL Dont get me wrong .... the rotary still has its place but with the latest abrasive technology and pads I dont do much with the rotary these days.
Ya, I can definitely see that.

I really enjoy cutting with a rotary. I personally find cutting with a free spinning da a bit bland. Getting into this forced rotation FLEX has definitely given me a new love for polishing, both cutting and finishing.

I recognize that name... in fact, we had a 73 year-old guy call me and ask me for my personal recommendation for his next polisher. He's been using the Porter Cable for years. Wanted to take polishing to the next level. I told him his options then made my recommendations and he went with the FLEX Supa BEAST.

Had me sign it before it shipped out...

I keep telling tool companies to give their tools "actual" names, not part numbers.

Maybe some decade after I'm gone they'll listen.

Sorry it took a bit longer longer to reply to this but here is what I got for ya...

Recently had a freshly painted project that customer wanted some serious orange peel wet sanded out of so I was able to compare Carpro Ultracut vs 3d ACA 500

On a rotary I love both those products but 3d ACA 500 was better in every way. Really was not even close as far as cut. Both had similar working times and Ultracut finished down a tit better but you would be obviously cleaning both up for both leave holograms so that is a moot point.

On the FLEX Supa BEAST the 3d ACA cut better but finishes down mediocre at best compared to Ultracut which cut very well and finishes down absolutley stunning considering the amount of cut and that it's a compound.

    Short answer...
On a da I would put Carpro Ultracut with Sonnax Cutmax and Menzerna 400 with Ultracut cutting better than both and finishing down every bit as nice as Cutmax but not quite as well as Menzerna 400.

    1. Carpro Ultracut
    2. Sonax Cutmax
    3. Menzerna 400

Using a rotary, Carpro Ultracut was a VERY nice compound but definitely falls short of 3d ACA 500 which has set the bar pretty high imo and is still my go to for rotary cutting.
