The big issue is clay marring. In my case, zero clay marring on the Subaru.
Tried everything under the sun to find marring---none!

Instead of correcting, I just went straight to sealant. Done....

Been doing it this way for 6 years. Paint just seems to get better and better each year! (Note: probably my imagination)!

Believe the paint is on the harder side. It appears that the lighter the color, harder the paint. Plus paint on the lighter side with flakes helps hides swirls more.

The McKee's High Def sealant is a straight sealant. By using the yellow Rupes pads, it cuts and polishes the paint using the High Def sealant as a lubricant. I've done 2 cars this way.

Did a lime green Hellcat and wife's Subaru this way! Later tonight--I'll see if I can find the Hellcat 50/50 just using yellow pad and McKee's sealant.

I think you'll be good with what you have on hand except the spray coating. Believe you'll going to need some abrasive step in order to clean and smooth out paint with the yellow or even a white pad.

I used the fine clay mitt from Griots: (The yellow one).

Just before winter hits, just wash and then that's when you can try the spray on stuff....

    Hope that helps..

Thanks for provding the detail. I get it now how you're using the pad to generate the cut/polish part of the equation. Great combo.

I think my takeaway from this is that I need a CBEAST!

So sealant for "lubricant" and let the pad do some light correction. That's interesting and is now on my "techniques to try" list. Thanks
