maker seems to be indefatigably hellbent

I will add—I sure hope that the C8 ZO6 really
doesn’t wind up being an “E-Ray” variant.

Nice! Orange if my favorite color so this is my favorite color for the new C8s.
What do you think about the clear on the new C8 Corvettes? Hard, soft? Somewhere in the middle?
Thanks Mike. I found it surprisingly pleasant to work with! (compared to other generations of Corvettes that are rock hard) It was on the medium-soft side.

Agree. I've detailed 2 C8 Corvettes, both black. Color shouldn't make a difference as we're working on the clearcoat. I found the paint to be on the soft side of medium. Definitely not hard paint but also not what I would call the perfect balance between hard and soft.
In my opinion, the average car OWNER should be able to work on their own car if they so choose. For this reason the clearcoat on any brand of car should be in the MEDIUM range. Not so hard the average person can't work on it with a Porter Cable and not so soft that it scratches when you wipe it with anything.
After claying the second C8 Corvette and seeing how an ULTRA FINE grade detailing clay marred the raised body lines as well as the paint I took a few pictures and shared this article.
