    2020 Porsche C4S Cabrio (992)

    2020 Porsche Carrera 4S Cabriolet (992)
    253 Miles
3.0 liter flat 6, PDK trans
    443HP/390TQ
    0-60: 3.0 seconds
    Top Speed: 182MPH

Client flat bedded his new Carrera to me for some correction and protection. This is going to be a black beauty when completed!
Vehicle was covered with water spots, swirls, some scratches and multiple hazy ‘thin’ areas where it looked like someone (the dealer, or one of their vendors) attempted to correct some areas with horrendous results…and just left them like that. These areas showed up as light or gray areas on this black paint and would only readily show under the ScanGrip lighting. These areas measured very ‘thin’—in the 1.3 mil range.

    The ‘details’:

    2BW w/Gary Dean Shampoo.
    McGee’s37 Iron Remover.
    Clayed with medium mitt.
    Adam’s Wheel Cleaner.
    Adam’s Tire and Rubber Cleaner.
    Raggtop top protectant.
    Master Blaster to dry.
    DeFelsko PTG.
    Scan Grip lighting.
    Ranger QuickJack.
    Flex 3401/beast.
    Flex XFE15/finisher.
    Flex Pixie.
    Griot’s Fast Correcting Cream.
    Griot’s Perfecting Cream.
    Car Pro PERL tire dressing.
    Optimum Panel Wipe.
    22ple Mistico Elemento Forte.
    22ple VM1.
    Auto Finesse Glass Cleaner.
    Metro vacuum.
    McKee’s37 quick interior detailer.
    GYEON leather coat.

    Thank you for looking/commenting!

Love it ! That black flows !

Someone prior was definitely out of there league, straight hack, ouch!

Was that paint insanely soft that maybe a inexperienced detailer got in over his head with that awful haze/ micro marring ?

You sure crank out the Porsche's.

Thank you!!! No, paint was medium, not terribly soft. Someone just had a go at it and well...

    Damn...You are sizzling! Lol...

Really---can you correct clear coat that thin?
If that was me, I would probably have have turned it down.

How or what did you have to do to do the thin areas if I may ask?

    Beautiful work!

How did you handle the thin paint with the client? Were you worried about it or do you know that even with it being that thin that you could handle it without issue?

    Re: 2020 Porsche C4S Cabrio (992)

    Thanks all.

I went very slowly. And measured a lot! I informed the owner so he would know what to expect if I was not able to fully correct those areas, and that also so they knew that those areas may be compromised/need special attention going forward.

Tom, lower speed, less pressure, fewer section passes. I also dropped down with pad aggressiveness. And again, went slowly to prevent as much heat build up/transfer as I could.
