    1991 Chevy S-10 Pickup Truck

So a friend of mine from our local racing group brought me his super clean 1991 Chevy S10. He's been wanting it polished and coated for a while now and thankfully today the stars aligned as I had a scheduled detail call me early morning yesterday for a new date. Well, Nick emailed me right after without even knowing and as luck would have it, Saturday was here.

Having been polished and coated a few years back, and being maintained very well, this job wasn't too bad. Light swirls and a few stains were what I would need to work on.

In addition to The polishing, Nick added a 3 layer Coating Package I have with Cquartz UK 3.0 and Gliss v2 on the paint. He also went all-in to help keep this beauty nice adding in GYEON Q2 RIM wheel coating over his flawless set of wheels. I love the clean simple design. Glass coating all around and as a bonus I topped off all trim as a nice bonus using GYEON Q2 Trim.

Lastly, Nick said he has NEVER had the interior detailed beyond just a regular vacuuming. This is where having the right tools made it more fun. The Tornador Velocity Vac pulled dust and dirt out of the carpet and seats like crazy. The red interior changed shades before my eyes and began to light up a bit.

Next up was my new Steam Extractor to clean the seats and carpet. WOW! What a great upgrade and one I'm glad I pulled the trigger on. The extractor is powerful enough to lift the carpet in the vehicle. So after a full interior and exterior, this beauty is ready for some fall cruises and should be super easy to maintain going forward.

Thanks again to Nick for his continued trust in my work. I can't wait for you to see his reaction when picking it up in the morning. Onto the pics!

So the work is awesome as usual, especially the interior...WHOA! But your holding out on us gearheads...what's the deal with the truck? I spy Halibrands and big clampers! I see it has the 4.3L badge on the tailgate, what's under the hood and behind it...details 1991 Chevy S-10 Pickup Truck1991 Chevy S-10 Pickup Truck

That truck is amazing! Interior gives me fo d memories of my dad’s 1991-ish GMC Safari work van. You don’t see many vehicles like this around and it looks so glossy and pristine now.

It must be repainted at some point? Also interested like Klasse about what’s under the hood.

Thanks Guys. Stock 4.3l engine with some exhaust work and a new rear end for the drive train. Obvious drop of the suspension and aftermarket wheels. It was re-pained from the original single stage to a clear coat about 11 years ago.

Thank you sir. Interior wise, I was blown away with the speed able to be achieved using a REAL extractor. Haven't had to invest in one as I haven't done as much interior work as exterior but with winter coming outsides of cars are important but interiors are lived in all the time and thus it's easier to get that business when the snow is falling. This one indeed did come out great.

For the process on the Carpet and Seats:

Tornador Velocity Vac makes short-order of any dirt and dust. This one was really dusty as if the seats were coughing up plumes of dust. Masks are important when using air power for sure. Also, keep the vac suctioned down as even then the dirt was flying still.

Love both my T. Black and Velocity Vac Tools:

Once the car was thoroughly Vacuumed. I layed into it was a pre-treatment for all the fabric areas. Here I didn't really need to use it but wanted to try out my New 2 Gal sprayer with built in schrader valve for pumpless pressure. 15 seconds on the compressor and bam! 45psi ready to go. The products I use are a trio of proven winners in the commercial space. There are tons of choices, but these are proven partners and help make the job go smooth.

Grainger Supplies Solo 456 2 gal sprayer:

    Newline Industries sells great stuff:

Lastly, my new BEAST of an extractor. Private Lable version of Sandia's 6 Gallon unit with some impressive specifications

For those that are newer to interiors or interested, the Anti-Foam is a must in powerful extractors like this. One never knows what soaps, pre-treatments or spotting attempts have been made to a vehicle prior and any foam that gets sucked up will make for a shorter life on your vac pumps. Add it to the waste tank as per the instructions religiously.

Cleaning wise, their pH balanced products are amazing. The HD Upholstry Cleaner goes a long way. Pre-treat, aggitate into the carpet and seats and let dwell for a few minutes. Properly mixed it's a perfect pH of 9.5 cleaning power and is then balanced right back down to just a wee-bit acidic by the Final Rinse Solution that goes into the cleaning solution tank. Again, mix up accordingly and know that these product were designed for an safe to use in heated commercial grade extractors. Just flush with clear water after.

For tigher areas like behind the pedals, edges of seats and other areas that were not going to be reached with the extractor, I used my tornador black to blow their enzyme solution in the area. It's PH nuetral to slightly acidic when mixed to the proper ratio so that makes for less of a need to rinse it but then I was able to blot up and wipe it with a MF Rag. The tornador just with air also helps stand up and separate the fibers and speed drying times so I went over everything with it once the vehicle was cleaned.

Tornador Enzyme in both the trial size and Gallon. Don't hesitate if you're looking. It's good stuff. Buy the gallon.

    6 Gal Extractor

Capacity: 6-Gallon Solution and Recovery Tanks
    Motors: Single 3-Stage, 1258 Watt, 99 CFM
    Pump: 100 PSI
    Voltage: 115 V
    Water Lift: 117"
    In-Line Heater: 1200 Watt
    Cord: (1) 25-Foot , 16/3-Gauge Safety
    Dimensions: 26" L x 17" W x 35" H
    Weight: 82 lbs.

All done, I set a large fan in the vehicle to speed up dry time and within 2hrs it was 95% dry to the touch.

    Hope the added details help.
