    Experiment

Weekend warrior/amateur experimenting with pad and polish combinations. Tried GG microfiber pads/BLACKFIRE One Step on my 2007 Accord DD with 170K miles. I had marring on the vertical surfaces so I did a second step with LC white pads/BLACKFIRE. Turned out really nice. Question for those with experience with microfiber pads: is more product needed than foam pads? I think that contributed to the marring. Sorry for the lack of photos. I get an error after uploading two. Thanks

Nothing wrong with GG or Griot's Garage microfiber pads they are some of the best in the industry.

I think that contributed to the marring.

Here's your answer, it's in an article I wrote to explain this issue.

The answer IS the title of the article.

    Re: Experiment

Thanks Mike! I enjoy your how to and product review videos. I did the same experiment on my 2001 Tacoma using Meguiars 205. I had less marring so the paint must have been harder and it’s maroon so maybe less noticeable. Being 20 yrs old, it needed the extra cut. It turned out nice enough that it may be what I try a ceramic coating on. I’m still getting an error message from the forum when trying to upload additional photos. Maybe the files are too large. I know that these threads aren’t very interesting without pics! Thanks again
