    Copper Ford F-150 Platinum Edition

    Copper Ford F-150 Platinum Edition
Maintenance Wash and installation of the PBL Tire Clear Coat.

Tires were machine scrubbed with the Mike Phillips technique of using a DA scrub brush and rotary prior to installation.

Floor mats were machine scrubbed with the Mike Phillips technique and the BLACKFIRE floormat cleaner and protectant. Then an additional spray and wipe of the floormats with the BLACKFIRE Floor Mat Cleaner and Protectant.

By Mike Phillips Technique, I mean attaching the 4 and 3/4 backing plate and DA scrub brush (pictured below) to the rotary, and machine scrubbing.

Its totally AWESOME!!!Copper Ford F-150 Platinum Edition

Truck looks great. Tires look great. How did you apply the tire coating? How many coats?

    Thanks!

I used the Speedmaster Tire Dressing Applicator

    I applied one coat.

I first machine scrubbed the tires with Meguiar's D143 Non acid wheel and Tire cleaner, and I sprayed down the surrounding area to serve as an aqua shield from the strong chemical.

I used my rotary and the DA Scrub brush pictured below. It worked quite well!

This is a technique Mike Phillips teaches.

In the future if I'm doing a vehicle with a watereless wash only, (this was a regular wash) I will use a different product. Maybe 303 Rubber cleaner or something like that?

I cant recall the exact name

I taped off the tires to section the tire in half as pictured above.

Later I will habe ramps to drive up on.

Working on cool tires I applied the product to the applicator in a zig zag pattern. This was the third and last coating I could use the applicator for as it was getting worn out.

I worked the product into the tires and into the little lightning bolt designs on the tires. I applied a small amount to the applicator then worked it in to the little sections I needed to touch up.

Then I pulled the truck forward until my little green tape lines rotated around and exposed the uncoated half of the tire.

I then repeated this on the other half AFTER I pulled my tape off. I also believe I added a small amount of the coating to the applicator and did a few quick swipes around the whole tire at this time just to smooth the product out and make sure everything was covered.

It took me a little practice to get used to applying the tire coating but all of the tires I've done so far seemed to turn out well. These turned out the best of all of them. Its the Pinnacle Black Label Tire Clear Coat.

    I LOVE IT!

I like those Speed Master applicators for applying tire coatings as well.. I’ve found that rinsing them with water then squeezing the the excess out and leaving them to air dry extends their life by a long way.
