HAMMERED BUICK GN and Camaro SS

Repeat customer of mine snagged a sweet 87 Buick GN. Very clean interior/frame etc. It had been painted at one point and not really well. Lots of tape lines etc etc. But he isn't ready to drop the coin yet for a full repaint so he asked if I could give it some life.

    Prep

Rinseless wash with ADG wipe out. Light clay with Nanoskin fine towel

    Wheels/Tires

    ADG wipeout/ Hyper dressing

Correction- B/S Uro wool, Rupes 21 Mark ll, IGL F1.

Finish polish- Rupes 21 Mark ll, IGL Yellow foam with 3D ONE. Left the residue on the panel then followed up with a black foam pad with a drop of ONE.

LSP- Machine applied IGL Premier with black foam pad

Next up was a 2010 Camaro SS that has been owned by the is gentleman since new. 34k miles. Oh and it has a ECS/Paxton Novi 1500 with Meth injection, cam etc etc..

    Wash/Decon

Rinsless wash with ADG wipeout/ Nanoskin fine grade towel

    Wheels/Tires

Wheels off coating service. Foaming wheel cleaner gel, Megs Iron decon, Goof off for tar removal. Coated with IGL Eclipse. As was the suspension and liners.

Correction- Rupes 21mm Mark ll, IGL Yellow Foam, 3D One

    LSP- IGL Poly

Re: HAMMERED BUICK GN and Camaro SS

Same as I posted on your other thread: Just what we always see coming from you Justin...EXCELLENT work! All turned out great. Love the pics as well...

And awesome 50/50 shots. Mustang looks tough. GN owner must be blown away by those results.

    Yeah Wow!

Like Scott said - exactly what we expect to see from you but certainly no less impressive looking through the pictures! The 50/50 pics are straight out crazy on the Buick!!! And the before & afters on the Camaro wheels ...

Outstanding work my friend, thank you for taking the time to post up this thread.

    Looks great!

I'm a fan of IGL, Premier has always seemed to streak for me. I've never tried applying it with a machine and a foam pad. Will have to give it a try

Re: HAMMERED BUICK GN and Camaro SS

I saw those GN results posted when he got the car back. Looks amazing. The hard part about GNs is that the paint was atrocious right from the factory. I have a 30,000 mile original 87 GN and when I bought it with 28,000 miles, the paint was an absolute disaster. Whoever attempted to correct it, definitely didn't help much. I went at it gently with HD Speed and white LC CCS pads. Still a bunch of flaws, but its significantly better than it was.

I look at it this way, even a bad repaint was most likely better than the original paint!

    Awesome work!
