As an AIO, HD Speed impressed me. There were holograms on the car from a rotary buff by the previous owner, and it took them out. The Montan wax in HD Speed left a really deep, clean shine.
But the Rupes Diamond polish gave the paint a crisper and sharper look, if that makes sense. It seems to have refined the surface better. My paint is a metallic, and there's more sparkle to it now as a result of the polishing. Then again, that's what I would have expected from a purpose-built polish as opposed to an AIO. And I didn't mind the extra work.
The Liquid Souveran was the icing on the cake. Incredibly easy to use and leaves a crystal-clear finish.
I hope that helps!
Thanks for the compliment.
I made 6 fairly slow section passes, working in approx. 24" squares or corresponding surface area where the panels weren't large or flat.
I also used Mike's top-down strategy of doing both polish and wax on the roof, hood, and trunk before moving on to polish the front, back, and sides. I used a GG 3" DA for the front and back ends.
Very nice work and results! Looks very good!
It was mentioned that Rupes Diamond polish was applied to the whole car. On the AG site it's mentioned that the Diamond polish was designed to use with the Rupes DA and Rupes white pad....Is this simply promoting their own products? Can one expect same results using Diamond polish with say a GG orbital and LC or other white pads?
It finally rained in AZ, and the Liquid Souveran looks great after two weeks sitting outside. Here's the hood.
