    ‘75 Mazda RX3 Coupe.

    Hello all.

Well, the detailing Gods have been smiling down on me lately & spoiling me with a few interesting vehicles wearing Single Stage paint.

I make it no secret at all that I love working with Single Stage paintwork, I love how it feels, how it responds, how workable it is, it’s just plain fun!!! About the only part I don’t like is how it stains my pads etc but in exchange for the privilege - I don’t mind terribly.

Another thing I display loud & proud is my love of the Rotary Engined Mazda range, especially the earlier models like this sweet Chestnut Brown 1975 RX3 Coupe.

Having built a multiple trophy winning ‘73 RX3 Coupe (no trailer Queen either) myself a few moons ago now, I have a strong passion for these beauties.

    So, onto this one.

I would say the owner of this one is more so a friend than a client & Rotary Engined Mazda’s are in this family’s blood. Now, arriving at the shop this RX was in pretty good shape, so much so that I didn’t attempt to take any “before” photos. The interior was only slightly dusty & the carpet just needed a good vacuum. Paintwork had minor swirls & I could’ve captured them in pictures but I’m not claiming a massive turnaround here so didn’t bother.

From sight & the owners word, the paintwork had never been touched since it was applied around eighteen months/two years ago. It looked a little “dry” but overall fairly good.

Detailing - A thorough vacuum of the interior & some gentle forensic brush/vacuum work of the dash, vents, console & clean saw the interior looking almost as good as it did in ‘75.

Engine bay - again, only really dusty so I attacked it with a good waterless wash down with CarPro Ech2o.

Exterior consisted of a good waterless wash, mild clay decon, bright work polished with Meguiars NXT Metal Polish, interior/exterior glass cleaned with Meguiars D120 & paintwork polished with 3D ONE on Orange Lake Country CCS Pads on Flex 3401 & sealed with CarPro Reload. This cleared up the “dry” looking paint, removed what little swirls were there & really gave life to a retro but very cool colour.

There you go! Photo overload but such a sweet car to look at. Thank you all for stopping by & checking it out.

    Thank you LEDetailing.

I couldn’t stop taking photos! Every angle I looked at it it was just too cool not to snap another . . .

Absolutely. Today, I have an Abarth edition Fiat 500 (2013 I think) coming in which is fairly unique, so yeah, something interesting is never too far away.

It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

    Nice! Beautiful work Aaryn.

I know what you mean about getting a bit sentimental on familiar cars.
