Another Focus ST Get's Coated for Summer

So yet another referral within the ST community as come my way. Here the owner found a new-to-him Focus ST. This is a 2018 with about 3,400 miles worth of muck and some swirls on it. Here the owner and I agreed on my New Vehicle Prep & Protect Package. Good news is I was able to correct the paint to darn near 98% with just a light polish of CarPro Essence and some yellow Rupes Pads on the Mille to help bring out the shine and serve as a base-coat primer of SIO2 for the coating.

Seeing the impact of wheel coating on my car first-hand convinced him that helping clean up brake dust with just standard soap and mild agitation when needed opted him in for that treatment too. Lastly, after seeing the trim coating in action on my wife's car he added that to the mix for near full protection for a while.

Overall the car came out beautifully. IMO these are perhaps the best daily driver in a 6spd out there for a price range that is hard to beat. The tint and black accents really set this off well.

Thanks to the GYEON Q2 TRIM, Trim Coating, the plastics here are done and will not need to be dressed for a long while making washing and clean up a breeze.

Here's a before and after example on the trim.....yes, even this much of a difference on a nearly brand new off the showroom car. (( Note the paint was not corrected or cleaned up in this photo ))

Yes, even white can reflect and shine well.

Time to clean up the gloss black pillars. These will be part of the clear bra/PPF installation that is happening next.

    Looks great!

How did you approach all of the honeycomb grill work? Did you use TRIM on it too?

Being it's already a gloss finish in terms of how the factory produces it, no, I did not coat it with Trim. Honestly the color wouldn't darken and it would not likely finish out well with this type of coating as Trim doesn't dry glossy. Honestly that's where something like Adam's in and out or Meg's that I listed above comes in real well.

Thanks! I guess I wasn't very clear with the first part of my question. How did you clean/treat the honeycomb? My GTI has tons of it on the front as well and I'm always looking for a better technique. Over the years I've used towels rolled in various ways and even a small foam paintbrush from a craft store. It still takes forever and getting into the corners of each "cell" is difficult.

Gotcha. I clean them with a small Wheel Woolie and soap, then I blow dry them and next-day I apply either Adams or Meg's both of which are aerosol sprays. If you're going to "coat" them I would use something like Hydro or simliar products which also work good on wheels. I've never had luck with them on dark surfaces/paint but on grills or wheels they work well.

Thanks. I keep it simple and to the point. Should do more before and after shots, etc. but once I start, I'm all business and have more than enough of a portfolio to share. My key is to use my personal vehicles to show first-hand what I offer. My best sales are made in person when they see what I have on our cars.

Wow, the car looks amazing. Great job!! I always liked the Focus hatchback but with a kid in a car seat, the rear seat is useless. Lol
