A little blue on a grey day in Ohio

So a customer and fellow racing club member brought me his wife's daily driver for a good clean up and polish. It's not only a daily driver but one that lives outside too. It's a 2016 with 30k on the clock and from day one the wife uses regular soft-finger style car washes. Still a major ouch! for the paint. The good news is he keeps the car VERY clean and while it did have it's share of car wash scars, they cleaned up pretty easily. The car has had both the front and rear bumpers re-painted and while the body and paint works looked great, I pulled out some compound and wool pads to really give them a good clean-up since the body shop wasn't the best at finishing them out.

Given the budget we were targeting, this was going to be a simple polish and top with a synthetic sealant. Given the color and softness of the paint I decided to approach this with Essence. Also, given it has a TON of plastic trim, he opted in for the trim to be tacked with GYEON's Q2 TRIM as well.

Here's what Scoobie-Blue looks like: Again, here in Ohio Winters tend to be quite blah and grey and no, it wasn't helpful to be later in the afternoon. Combined cell pics are okay but nothing awesome.

Starting off he was proud that it was clean and thought this might be one of my easier clean-ups but the reality is always revealed after it's cleaned and prepped. As you can see, it had a solid amount of scratches and swirls.

Agree. This is a very nicely loaded 3.6l-R Version too. Love the smoothness and power of the V6 (brother in law has the same car) and the light color of the interior here is a great contrast.

The car looks great. I think Subaru has some of the best blue colors on the market right now.

When did Subaru start making V engines?
