2014 Ford Super Duty - Beauty & Beast in One

So a previous customer of mine is out enjoying his Roush and his wife her Lexus, both of which I just cleaned up, but now it's time to clean up his personal yet work-duty truck too.

It's a 2014 6.7 Diesel with series size going for it. Never been polished but wearing 4 years and nearly 42k miles of exposure it was noticeably oxidized and in need of some love via my Clean and Protect Package that would include a synthetic sealant to keep it protected for the next several months.

In order to help with the brake dust and to prevent it from further eating into the clear-coat on the wheels, they would be coated along with the bumpers, grill and other chrome bits on the vehicle.

Trim wise, there is quite a bit of black plastic exposed to the elements and they too were starting to show signs of weathering and exposure in their light gray dry appearance. In order to bring them back to black and protect them going forward, we decided to coat them too with a well known trim coating.

Lastly, the inside needed a strong cleaning including a full wipe-down and vacuuming. Needless to say the interior came out beautiful.

Here's what it looked like when he brought it to me. The back bumper as you can see is more than dirty. It's beginning to gray out due to exposure.

You can see the same thing happening to the windshield cowling.

The wheels are completely etched with brake dust. No, that junk doesn't just hose off nor is it easily cleaned off.

The cool chrome exhaust....forget it; just soak that thing in some oven cleaner to tackle it the best.

So what did he end up with after a little love? Let's start by looking at the wipers and cowling that have been restored and sealed.

Notice the front and back bumpers are nicely dressed as are all the black plastic bits including the tail gate latch area.

The hood.....no longer cloudy and oxidized

The wheels, undercarriage, exhaust.....all looking brand new again.

The truck is a beast and just about fills the 28ft of driveway between my house and the sidewalk.

That is a giant truck and the turnaround is great.

May I ask the process for the undercarriage and exhaust? I see oven cleaner mentioned...

I fine those ford cowlings fade fast if not maintained and the exhaust tips get hammered. What a difference it makes in appearance once they are fixed. Great job on a big rig!

I like the capability and reliability of the 6.7l powerstroke but they seriously need to cut back on the size of these things. Sooner or late they will be semi haulers

Sure. Oven cleaner does wonders on exhausts. Helps if they are warm when applied. 0000 steel wool and then Metal Polish after. Final step, GYEON Q2 RIM.

Undercarriage is APC at 10:1, and a long scrub brush with a bucket of soapy water. No secrets there.
