Super busy. Some recent jobs. Porsche, Audi, Mini cooper S

This time of year is crazy busy for me so I`m just going to post a few of my recent jobs.

    2014 Porsche 911 Carerra S.

Full interior detail, minor correction, IGL Premier sealant. Interior got Mckees 70/30 leather shampoo, Mckees total interior cleaner and carpet/upholstry cleaner

2010 50th Anniversary Mayfair edition Mini Cooper S

This was owned by the same people as the 911. Great little car. Got the same treatment. Just a nice full detail with some minor correction. A long list of Mckees products were used on this job. Foaming wheel cleaner gel, Gloss tire gel, Plastic trim restorer, 10 min paint sealant, 70/30 leather shampoo, total interior cleaner, carpet upholstery cleaner,

2015 Audi Q5. Another full detail with some minor correction just like the others. This got a one step with Menzerna PF2500 with a microfiber cutting pad. Then topped with IGL Premier. Interior got the same treatment as the others listed.

Then another Mini Cooper S convertible that is factory tuned by John Cooper Works. Pretty neat car. This was in for a full lineup of coatings. Full wheels off service with igl wheel coating, IGL Kenzo on the paint and plastic trim, IGL leather coating on the seats. This had some issues with phantom water spotting that kept reappearing in the sun. I had to heat cycle the hood to bring them to the surface then polish it, set it back outside in the sun and see if they would reappear then polish again. I repeated this process 4 times until they were gone.

    50/50 leather coating shots

    All finished

The gloss on the Porsche is amazing!

There is nothing more satisfying than seeing perfectly clean wheels and wheel wells.

Great looking work, thanks for posting.

Fantastic work on the Porsche. Hopefully I can get 718 CaymanS to look that good. Hope to seal it in a few weeks

    Hi Justin,

Amazing and "detailed" work as is your norm.

    Quick couple of questions....

    Which car rack is this?

Also do you charge separately to remove wheels and then detail the backs of the wheels or do you include this in a package price.

To re-install, do you look up each car my make, model and year and locate the exact torque specifications for re-installing the wheels correctly without damaging the wheels or the rotors?

Do you use a Torque Wrench for the final tightening sequence?

I know how to do all this stuff but don't ever offer it or really even care to but at the same time, I know some customers go ga-ga over this type of "detailed" service.

    Hey Mike. Thanks!

So the lift I use is a quickjack 7000slx.

I always use a torque wrench for final torque sequence. Usually set to 100ft/lbs but on a lot of European vehicles I always double check what spec is. I also use threaded rods on that screw into the hub for removing and reinstalling wheels on vehicles that use lug bolts as opposed to lug nuts. This way I don't damage the wheel or caliper etc during reinstallation.

I do charge separate for my wheels off service. That includes a thorough prep and cleaning and ceramic coating on wheels, and calipers if they are powder coated and a thorough cleaning of the wheel wells.

I can see how not only would this work great for detailing cars but also for video work.

100 foot pounds of torque sounds like a lot for most cars? Should be easy enough to find out using Skynet though. I wouldn't want to create an issue where I had to have someone's rotors replaced due to warping from over-torqueing.

    Good idea.
