    245k Mile Toyota Restoration

So the UPS Guy who visits my home nearly every day thanks to Amazon decided to take me up on my suggestion to get his daily done. Needless to say I didn't realize until he brought it by how bad of a daily it was.

2007 with over 245k miles on it. He does Uber with it and wanted the outside cleaned up but not perfected. Option 2 got rid of 100% of the swirls but the Random Imperfections, Defects & Scratches aka RIDS remain. Honestly it's not worth paying to remove them given the cars overall condition as a daily that's 11 years old.

In the end he just picked it up and was very very pleased. Before the windows were so chalky that the wipers seemed to just smear the water not wipe it. The paint was oxidized and spotted to no end. Now it's a shiny black Uber Ride that will no offend anyone if they are picked up.

The interior is next but that's in a couple weeks when I have an opening to get it done. Thankfully it's just dingy and not down right pigged out.

    • Washed
    • CarPro Iron X
    • Medium Grade Nano Sponge
    • Tarminator where needed on rockers
    • 3D Eraser Gel on Windows and in heavy water spotted areas
    • Meg's 205 with a Flex 3401 using 6 Orange Hybrid Force Pads
    • Geyon Can Coat as the LSP

Here are a couple Before Shots:

Paint shown here on the hood was spotted and nasty.

Decklid and nearly every panel was just loaded with scratches.

    She cleaned up nicely though

Reflection of my garage door and wall in the roof towards the rear window

That's a hell of a turn-around. What's the durability of that can coat? It almost seem too good to be true.

Wow, great transformation, doesn't even look like the same car. No wonder he was pleased.

They say 6 to 12 months but we'll see. He lives near me and we'll of course be staying in touch.

I'm using Can coat going forward to replace my base level sealants that I use on my entry level details. I'm also looking to use a basic polish and can coat to replace all in one jobs too. It's just too easy to use and the hydrophobic properties are light years above sealants and waxes.

Came out great. The gloss CanCoat adds is fantastic. Fan of it myself.

Jeff from Gyeon mentioned in a video with Mike that CanCoat has a durability of 6-9 months.

Have it on my moms car that just approached the 10 month mark. Sides are still doing very well. The roof, hood and trunk are showing signs of needing to be re-coated. Impressed with the hydrophobic properties and self cleaning effect of it.
