69 Chevelle 396/4 speed

The paint was in excellent condition, well maintained with very few swirls, if any. The owner was very meticulous with taking care of this car. He never washed the car with water.

I was not able to create a 50/50 example of a before and after a polishing session.

Even during claying---there was very little dirt, if any on the clay. It actually pulled more dirt out of my hand than the paint!

This reminds me of the 69 Camaro which was a lacquer base coat and clear coat. Since it was a repaint many years ago (25 years)---this may be possible.

This paint was very hard. Decided to clean and smooth the paint using Speed and protected with McKee's High Def Sealant. Left it on for more than 24 hours before removing. This created a smoother, buttery feel and look to the surface.

Wash wheels with soap/water and the old tire dressing was removed with Tuff shine.
Vinyl top was vacuumed and washed using rinse less wash.
Vinyl top was cleaned and protected using Marine 31 vinyl cleaner and protectant. ( was all I had on hand---run with what you have.)
Washed the car using the rinse less method using McKee's N-914.
Clayed the car.
Polished the paint using HD Speed with Rupes yellow pad. (sweet results!
Applied McKee's High Def Sealant for 6 months protection.
Mother's Chrome polish used on all brightwork.
Exhaust tips cleaned with mothers polish.
Exterior Glass cleaned.
