New Car Prep - 2017.5 Leftover Mazda 6 Gets Coated

Many Thanks to fellow racing forum member that I associate with for trusting his new 2017.5 Mazda 6 in my hands.

This super nice Mazda seems to have been one of the best finds for 2018. A brand new left over unit that seems to be to be fairly well loaded was picked up by him not long ago. I'm really impressed with the interior not just in design but in the quality of materials. As solid and refined as may BMW's of recent years. Very nice.

My customer brought it to me to prep and prepare for him to really have nothing more to do going forward than basic washes and an occasional wipe down with a detail spray that is included with my coating packages.

Full decontamination and prep revealed a lot of embedded particulates. No doubt from having sat outside in inventory. Nothing both a Nanomit and some iron remover couldn't make short work of.







Silver metallic isn't something easy to capture with a cell phone camera and even he admits that overall it's difficult to get it to really "POP!" like other darker colors, but in the end, it really nice and had the sun cooperated, the flake could have come out nicely.















So what was involved?

• Vehicle was completely washed as I enjoyed playing in the water on a nice 70*+ Spring Day
• Nano sponge medium grade
• Iron X
• Meg's M205 Polish on LC White Hybrid Force Pads driven off a Flex 3401
• CarPro Eraser wipedown
• McKee's 37 v2 Paint Coating
• McKee's 37 Glass Coating
• CarPro Reload to help protect it early on
• Aero Cosmetics Satin finish rubber conditioner for tire dressing
• WETS for some of the trim
• Adams In & Out for some other trim such as the grill area

Mazda and Ford have both come a long way. I sat in a mazda 6 I think which is about maybe 2016 and it was really nice.

Mazda 6s interiors are simple yet stylish I like them. Especially with the cup holder cover closed looks very clean! My girlfriend has the titanuium color and I would love to correct and coat the car for her in the future. For now it got a application of reload to protect the paint for the next 6months.That being said he should throw some heat rejecting window film on and call it a day after you’re done with it!

Looks awesome . IMO silver and white both are extremely difficult to get that " wet " look or even a reflective surface .
I bet your customer was super happy with the job you did .

Awesome work. Just picked up a gray metallic 2015 Mazda 6 i sport edition. Very nice ride with great fuel mileage. Now I just need to find time to correct all the paint work and coat everything. Been super busy with work and I am having anxiety because we have a new vehicle in the household and I haven't worked on it yet!!!! HAHAHA!
