Under the weather, bored and losing my mind. And the weather is frickin cold.
So I had to do this...
The power washer needed an oil change, o rings replaced, new air filter, washed and winterized. Had it for about 8 years and it was never cleaned once! Also left it body shop for about 2 years and was covered with auto body dust, dirt and mud. The plastic was dull almost white/gray colored.
Did a waterless wash using Mckee's N-914
Dressed the plastics with Blackfire All-In-One Trim and Tire Protectant
And if the following week doesn't get any better, I'll probably will clay the washer deck since it failed the baggie test. Do a polish by hand and lay down some Optimum Wax.
When I bought my first polisher this summer I wanted to test it out first. Had not got my scrap yard door home yet. So my victim was my Weber coal grill. Waterless wash with Ech2o and it's was really dirty with grease so degreaser was applyied also. Then claying it and wiped down with Ech2o again. Polishing it with Ultima paintprep plus and then applied Ultima paint guard plus to it.
My mom and stepfather was home and they where just shaking there heads
Haha you do what you have to do when the itch is coming
Ahhhhhhh good. I know that feeling. Just last night I felt that.
I haven't touched a polisher since June. Done barely any detailing. Few washes. Did my wife's interior. Basic interior clean on my own daily driver. Not much fun, but something.
Last night was a different story. Found an old (2 years old) sealant to run some testing, if you want to call it that, along some others to try out. Took out the original hood out of storage (I have a carbon fiber version currently on the car). Washed with Megs Wash Plus, light clay, light polish, then sealed. Ahhhh it felt so good to do that stuff.
In 2014/15 I had a scrap door that I did a lot of practicing on. I'll probably get a couple of hoods this year. Just depends on how busy I am. I feel like I need the practice.
Polish and coat your stainless steel appliances; really cuts down on fingerprints and smudges...especially on the black touchpads.
Solid surfaces in bathroom and kitchen, granite countertops...plenty to do in the winter to keep that SiO2 addiction in check.
I have been thinking of doing some of the appliances, too. What do you refer to when you say, "black touchpads?"
What have you done for the granite countertops? Wax? Sealants? Coatings?

I'm finally tossing out (or giving away if someone local wants it) my scrap door. I've done enough testing on that one.
