    2005 Porsche Boxster

My neighbor left his new-to-him Porsche Boxster with me a for a little TLC while he was away. Interior just needed to be freshened up a bit, but the exterior needed a good polish. The car showed signs of being detailed not long ago, but the clear bra needed some work and there was no LSP left anywhere.

Please excuse the state of the garage. Prepping for some electrical work that’s coming so that I can finish it off before snow hits. Many more lights coming vs the two normal house lights that currently light the space. A heater is coming with insulation once everything is in place. Sheetrock may need to wait until next year.

    Before:

    Polishing:

    After:

(This would have been an awesome shot if my cars were not in the background...)

    Products used
    • 3D BDX on a dry car followed by a rinse and wash
    • Chemical Guys Mr. Pink
    • McKees N-914 at Clay lube/Waterless dilution
    • Mother clay 2.0 (I like this better the more I use it)
    • HD Polish+
    • White Lake Country ThinPro foam pads
    • Griots Leather Care
    • Collinite 845
    • Meguiar’s Wheel Brightener
    • Meguiar’s Super degreaser
    • Meguiar’s APC
    • Meguiar’s Glass Cleaner
    • Meguiar’s Hyper Dressing 1:1 for wheels, 2:1 for wheel wells and other plastics

    Conclusion:
Overall, I was happy with the way the car turned out. I found HD Polish+ to be a little difficult to remove. I even tried N914 at panel wipe dilution, which worked, but it was so humid that I could get it to dry easily. The process took me close to 8 hours.

The tan Porsche leather really shows all the dirt. Nice job in cleaning that up!
Paint looks fantastic, the 3D products are great to work with...

If I may ask, what photo editing software are you using? I like how the license plates are getting scrambled.

    Great job!

I use photoshop. I purchased a copy a while back when I was freelancing as a web designer/developer. When I have a few minutes I’ll post a quick tutorial on it and a few more options as well as doing some batch processing of images.

That is some nice work. And wow... that's a great looking 12-13 year old car. Really love that tan leather interior. Newer ones are nicer, but those are still great driving cars. (And for all the Porsche nuts who want to warn me... I'm fully aware of the IMS bearing issue. 2000-2005 are particularly susceptible.)
