LSN Autodetailing - 2003 Porshe 911 (996) Bi-Turbo: LOTS of PICS - Major transformation
Fair warning, this is a pic heavy thread. This car was such a transformation, there is no other way to show it's transformation other than the photo's here.
The Story:
My neighbor saw me doing an Audi R8 a few months ago.. LSN Autodetailing - 2013 Audi R8 v10
He wanted to talk to me about getting his car done. I thought he was referring to his wife's C300, but the garage door opened and this beauty was inside.
Boy, she needed some TLC!!! He was the 8th owner and don't think it's ever been detailed. He had been searching for someone he could trust, but after seeing the R8 and my cars, he made an appointment.
The goal was to make the car better than it was, but he wants to drive the heck out of it. (it has 50K miles on it now), so he wanted it to be a drivers car, with rock-chips and all.
I think we overshot the goal!
This was a two day affair with red goddess in need of our help!
Products:
- Engine: Wolfgang Total Engine Cleaner, various daytona and mothers brushes; Mckee's Trim Detailer; BLACKFIRE AIO
- Rockers and bumpers: Tarminator & McKee's bug scrubber (yep, it needed it!)
- Wheels: GG Heavy Duty Wheel Cleaner, wheel woolies, Daytona Speed Brush
- Megs Hyper Wash D110; AG Foam Gun, 2BM w/ Chenille Wash Mitts
- Blow Dry
- Nano Skin Clay / Megs D114 Clay Lube
Paint Test Spots (and here is where things got tricky!!!) Paint was soft in some spots, harder where it was repaired.
- Delfesko PTG showed good readings except high readings in left rear shoulder.
- Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish on White CCS on Rupes MK II on test spot 1 - LOOKED Great, could be better - I could have lived with this...
- Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish on Orange CCS on Rupes MK II on test spot 2 - Looked great, not much difference with the white pad... Dealing with soft paint.
- Pinnacle Advanced Compound on Green Rupes Pad on Rupes MK II on test spot 3 - Too much correction, too fast especially for DAT - scared me a bit, back it down!
- Griot's BOSS Perfecting Creme on BOSS Orange Pad with BOSS G-15 - WE HAD A WINNER! porridge was just right. The rear left shoulder I bumped up to Griot's Correcting Cream
Interior:
- Tornador with McKee's HD APC 10:1 w/ my NEW 30 Gal 5.7CFM Kobalt Compressor
- Metro Vac
- Pinnacle Leather Vinyl Cleaner
- Pinnacle Leather Conditioner
- McKee's Total Interior cleaner (final wipe down)
- McKee's Krystal Vision Glass Cleaner
I miss my extractor!!! No 30 amp plug in the new place!!! But Interior Gal did a great job none the less
Exterior:
- CarPro Erasure
- GTECHNIQUE EXO ---> First time using this, OMG.... LOVE IT!
- Glass Pinnacle Chrystal Vision Glass Cleaner w/ Water Repellent
- Exhaust Tips - Pinnacle Exhaust Tip Cleaner
- McKee's Wax Remover (on all plastic trim, bumpers guards, etc...)
- Blackfire AIO on rear bumper guards
- CarPro DLUX on all plastic trim
- Solution Finish on front air-dam (rubber)
Now onto the show-n-shine: (some photo's are not in the order of events)
More Before & After's
The Final product in it's glory!

Wow, great transformation. Great work and documentation. I'll have to try McKee's wax remover and BF AIO. Those bumperettes look new.

I haven't seen a McIntosh car amp since I had one installed in a '89 Mustang GT. The owner obviously takes his sound seriously!

Absolutely amazing work!. It was still pretty hot here this past weekend so even more impressive you pulled off a difficult, 2 day job in the heat.

Great job. That car looks fantastic.
I'm looking at one very similar to that this weekend. The '98-'04 Turbos are a bargain right now (relative to other years).

Amazing job Paul! Looks so new!
I love that BF AIO trim stuff.
So it was a 1 step polish using "Griot's BOSS Perfecting Creme on BOSS Orange Pad with BOSS G-15" right? How long did the polishing phase take?
