2004 BMW Z4 paint restoration/correction with cquartz ceramic coating.
Alrighty next up a 2004 BMW Z4. This car is in ROUGH shape. The silver hides is pretty well. The trunk lid is so bad it has almost zero shine to it. Upside is when I'm done it'll look like a million bucks. This one is getting a near full restoration. Interior will be deep cleaned and conditioned, carpets shampooed, top deep cleaned and sealed. Exterior will receive a 2 stage correction polish, with a cquartz ceramic coating. Only thing I'm not doing is pulling the wheels off and putting a ceramic coating on those. Reason for that is he's replacing the wheels.
Products used or will be used:
raggtop fabric top cleaning kit
griots iron and fallout remover (I've actually really started to like this stuff.....cheap, yet effective)
cquartz standard
carpro reload
carpro perl
MTM foam lance
Megs Hyperwash
Adams leather and interior cleaner
Adams carpet and upholstery cleaner
Megs M105
Megs MF cutting pad
Carpro Essence
Before
During
Like I said this thing was in rough shape. I've never seen wheels bleed out that bad.
Raggtop going to work on the fabric top
Washed, paint deconned, and clayed at this point. I have not done any polishing, no waxes, sealants, etc. Paint is purely naked and ready for polishing. Today I'll put the waterproofing/sealant on the top, and tackle the interior. Tomorrow begins the 30 hours or so of paint correction/restoration work, followed by a ceramic coating.

I like working the tough to shine colors, always a challenge to make em pop. Looking forward to this.

I've tried ironX, trix, and adams wheel cleaner and I find this to be on par.....so far, to those.

You got my respect. I have detailed more than a few of those cars. For some reason they are always beat up and trashed. Plus, for such a small car, they are surprising difficult to detail.

Agreed. I was thinking max 4 hours per polish stage. I wayyyyyy underestimated. The cut stage is always the worst. I always catch myself scratch hunting, or saying if I hit that just a couple more times, or if I hit it with the rotary first just how much better it'll look. And I'm right, but it adds hours upon hours of unpaid work. The trunk lid was horrendous. Had zero shine. When I knocked off the first layer of damage I could see just how bad it was. I knew I could get it looking perfect, but it'd take time that I essentially wouldn't be getting paid for. It came out flawless, and I totally feel it was worth it. I just couldn't put a coating knowing I'd be locking in that damage for years.
