    Odd customer "complaint"

Had a well worn Mazda Miata this weekend stop by for a simple polish job. Very flat red paint prior to work being completed, after with only using HD speed the paint just came screaming back to life! I was thrilled nice gloss and the hidden flake in the paint came right back to life. When the customer picked it up it was starting to get into the dusk hours so he wasn't able to get the full depth of the job done, just said he loved the reflection on the car now. Then the next day I saw him at a local car show, he approached me saying he had no idea the car had the flake in the paint...and kinda didn't like it!! He said he feels like he's driving a tube of hooker red lipstick around town now!!! I kind of laughed as I found it funny but I think he was serious, wasn't really sure how to reply to that comment

Not a reply or comment one can give to the man. Just be satisfied with the correction you performed.

Tell the Miata owner that you'll buff out the gloss for an extra $200.

I get that all the time. Last week, I polished a black Toyota Avalon that had blue flake in it. Once I made it pop, the customer noticed it. She had no idea she had metallic paint!!!

And here I was going to say - Next you'll have a customer who complains that their car that used to be grey is now black! (Hammered black sure does make you feel good when it's brought back! )

I'd take 'complaints' like that all day! Good job on bringing the paint back to life!
