2009 Honda VTX 1300

I haven't done any bikes but a friend/co-worker wanted to get his bike prepped for sale and he had no idea how to get it cleaned up properly I figured I'd see what I can do and maybe get a lil bike experience under my belt.

Painted surfaces need the most love, the tank was riddled with swirls/rids/scratches, takled those with GG Fast Correcting Cream/Perfecting Cream combo
Most of the metal was brought back to life with P21s polishing soap and Mothers Chrome Polish
Wheels initially cleaned with GG Heavy Duty Wheel Cleaner, wheel brush and woolies, made a second pass with P21s Polishing Soap

That came out really well! The paint needed it badly! Good work!

At least your friend realized that a good detailing is more than worth the price and time when it comes time to sell.

I am always amazed at the garbage people show me for sale. They could get a lot more moeny and a faster sale if they would only clean and perfect it.

What are your thoughts about detailing bikes from doing your first one? I do bikes fairly often but am still surprised often about how long they can take, especially when neglected like that. Based on size only it would seem they'd be quicker but there are so many small places and fine details it's often not. I did a black '09 HD Trike recently and put 13 hours into it and could probably have put 3 more into it. It was for a friend who I knew could do the chrome and wheels so I focused on correcting the badly marred soft paint.

I used my PC 7424 with 3" plate, LC MF cutting pad paired with GG Fast Correcting, cleaned up the light marring with LC Force White pad and Perfecting cream....its garage kept and the owner said he won't be riding it anymore so I just finished it with some GG Spray Wax....Left him with a sample bottle of it as well in case he needed to rinse it down again and add some shine...

Actually liked the change of pace in this instance, took me a lil longer than I anticipated because I disassembled the saddle bags and the passenger seat to drop the rear fender for correction. But you are correct there are so many nooks and crannies just when it seems like you hit everything you find another area that need some attention.......

Yeah he was actually kinda shocked at how it came out, he was under he impression there was no hope for the paint and that it would need a respray, ....He also mentioned how was glad he was the he didn't post a sale price on it yet because he going list it for more than he originally thought.....
