OCG Detailing: Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG - Paint Correction + Cquartz UK Edition
My name is Ivan from OCG Detailing in Toronto, Canada.
This is my first actual posting in Show and Shine, hope you enjoy!
This G63 was just couple months old, but was “detailed” by another local detailing shop only one time.
It had many fine scratches and swirls. Fortunately, most of the area only required 1 stage, some were required 2 stage.
Process
Tire: Meguiar’s D143 + Tire Brush
Wheels: Carpro IronX, Meguiar’s D143 + Various Brush
Foam Pre-Soak: Carpro Snow Foam Soap
Wash: Meguiar’s D110 + Two Bucket Method
Decon: Carpro Iron X, Optimum ONR + Clay Wash Mitt (Fine Grade)
Paint Correction: Carpro Essence, Menzerna Heavy Cut Compound 400 (FG400) on Girot’s Garage G21, Flex PE8
Polish & Oil Removal: CarPro Eraser
Paint Coating: Carpro Cquartz UK Edition
Tires: Carpro PERL
Upon arrival
Began with the wheels and tires. Then we washed the exterior.
After paint decontamination and claybar treatment, taped the plastic and rubber trim, and examined the paint.
One of the area that required two stage.
Other before and after.
After paint correction, inspected the paint and removed all the polishing oil.
Coating Stage.
Inspected any leftover. then wait couple of hours and applied Reload.
Completed!

Nice job and posting. Question, if you used 400, I assume you used Essence to finish down. If my assumption is correct, why did you do an Eraser wipe down when Essence acts as a primer for CQuartz?

I forgot to mention that I only use Eraser after FG400 for some of the areas, and on glass as well (just to make sure no FG400 left on paint) and then finish down with Essence. Then go straight to Cquartz.
