2009 Black Mercedes ML63 AMG
So I got my hands on another AMG!
I soooo love touching these cars, I don't know what it is about them, the exhaust note, the engine sound, the simplicity of the design, the elegance of the body lines. Previously I detailed the same owners E55 AMG and got a 90%.
SO enter this SUV. I explain to him since it is his daily that i don't want him touching it washing it or anything 1 week before arrival when it's scheduled.
( Prevent any more damage to the paint) When I gave it a quick Eye before I had no idea what I had gotten myself into. LOL
Per Mike's request I decided to make sure that my before and after pictures "looked better" instead of using my ol DLR Camera~ LOL Sorry Mike I forgot to bring the other camera. SO I made sure to at least smile in my photos..
I wish my write up threads were as good as the ones here, But I'll get better I'm Sure.
Pre-wash: The Car was soaked twice with gentle suds. Getting most of the mud and road grime off the bottom of the vehicle.
Autogeek Quart Foamaster Foam Gun
McKee's 37 Xtreme Foam Formula Auto Shampoo
Wash: 2 bucket wash method : the wash Mitt was turned every two movements and rinsed.
Autogeek Quart Foamaster Foam Gun
BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond Conditioning Shampoo
Grit Guards w/ Washboard
Synthetic Sheepskin Wash Pad
Decontamination removal:
CarPro Iron X
Pinnacle Ultra Poly Clay
After the vehicle was washed and dried with a compressor, the paints finish was inspected.
This paint had seen a "Detailer" last year and there were all kinds of buffer burns , Diso, and Halograms everywhere, Also Hard Swirling , Scratches and Etchings.
Drivers Rear Quarter Panel
Drivers Rear Door *** notice my arm in the top right part of the photo** Car had absolutely no shine at all when dry.
DISO Hood, swirls, scratches ect
Passenger Front Fender
I really tried to be as easy as I could on this paint. Working with a gentle Machine a PC 7424XP on this on speed 5 Max.
Correction:
Porter Cable 7424XP
Lake County CCS PADS 5.5"
Orange Pads Qty 8. With 1 yellow hear and there.
Pinnacle Natural Brilliance Advanced Compound.
Chemical Pressure bottle with IPA 91 % 50:50
Carrand Polishing towels , Purple Plush towels for IPA.

50 / 50 's:
Passenger Rear Quarter: Now this panel was not as bad at like the first photo i shared but there was sooo many scratches i couldn't believe it. (* Guess that one bucket wash method is really working for him *) ( This time around though i noticed he had two buckets and grit gaurds, must of taken my advice *)
After the car was completely corrected
Polishing:
Porter Cable 7424 XP
Pinnacle Natural Brilliance Finishing polish
Lake County CCS White Pads Qty 8
My lil bro Steve helping me out!
LSP:
Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0
This one is for Mike
Drivers Rear Quarter Panel :
No More DISO!
Owner gave me better than new!!!!!!!!!!!!! "I'm Speachless" he said "Wow" His Jaw was hitting the floor!
And that is what I was looking for Sir, Thank you very much!

That black paint was trashed to say the least! You really had your work cut out for you on this one.
Nice work clearing up the defects in the paint. The black really shimmers gloss.
Are you talking about professor Mike P or me Mike P?

Amazing work bringing this one back from the brink! I'm glad the owner has come around and gave better than the "90%" he did last time.
You're right, there is just something 'special' about AMGs... especially silver ones
Street/Racing Concepts
'02 Mercedes SLK32 AMG, '05 Mercedes SL65 AMG, '02 Audi A6 Quattro 4.2- All Silver!
