    Re: Sanded off clear coat

Do you have anything other than TW compound and Chem Guys AIO?

I'm with Glen thinking you haven't run it down to the base color coat layer with 3000 unless you wetsanded for a loooong time. I'm...

    Re: Sanded off clear coat

Yup, more aggressive product or pad (or both). I've yet to meet an AIO that can tackle sanding scratches.

What is the "polish" you have? I've not used Turtle Wax Compound but i'd be leaning...

Re: Offline for a few days...

Looks like you went out at Port Everglades. Nice looking dolphin catch. That's some good eatin' on the grill.

I enjoyed doing that a few times when i lived in Broward.

    Happy belated...
  4. Re: What you don’t want to hear when selling an icon…

Almost worth me driving an hour south and taking care of it! Might take an hour and a half on that soft Honda paint to get it done.
  5. Re: Looking for the video of the detail shop that used gallons of product to cut vehicles!!

I'd love to see that too. I can't imagine using that much product.

Re: ATTENTION: FLEX Beast owners (3401)

I'm like dcj, i do mine about every 3rd job. I just hate the grey oil goo on the housing as its displaced during use! I keep an old shop towel around to wipe it off.
  7. Re: does anyone keep a jump starter in their vehicle(s)?

GREAT idea, Visitor! Thanks for sharing it.

My wife's car always has jumper cables in the trunk but the independence of not needing a good samaritin nearby is even better.

    Plus, the infrequent...

Re: Mothers Day Love for a Familiy Hauler

Gorgeous work and results! That thing might shed bullets during its urban assaults now.
  9. Re: Finishing glaze - how large is working area each time ?

Good point, Nate. I do the same i.e. find a good boundary on certain panels/sections to work. Maybe from "here" to this body line etc. however i still don't go crazy trying to work too big of an...

I agree with Glen, Griots G9 all day!
  12. Re: Finishing glaze - how large is working area each time ?

I find it VERY helpful to keep it to 2X2 with new products I'm trying out. It helps me focus on the correct process for using it.

You can always go larger once you get more comfortable with it...

Re: AIO Detailing Help/Advice - Please!

I agree with machines being exponentially better than hand however, in the case of cleaner waxes/sealants, you'll still get the LSP aspect by hand.

Working abrasives in AIO's by hand is another...

Re: Been away for 20 years and need guidance!

    I'm with UncleDavy!

The only thing I'd do is get all Thin Pro pads for that PC. 6-8 of each color white, orange and some blue foamed wool or MF cutting and you're set.

    Your new Jeep hopefully...

Re: How to I fix this?

I've had good luck with DuraGloss 501, my rotary and 2" pads on material like that.

  21. Re: Fully Detailed Vehicle But Defects Remain...Need Advice

    Some great advice so far.

Another important element of correction is inspect that section just worked under discerning light. I don't move on til that section is fully corrected.

    And when i...
