    Re: Thank you Mike Phillips

Holy smokes! This was a blow to the gut to see this morning.

Best of everything to you, Mike, and thanks for everything you've done for us here.

I hope we read that you've landed somewhere...

Re: Question on truck step rails...

    Thanks Eldo and 2black.

Yup, surprised I didn't think of covering them and really only on one side. I do lay something in the driver's footwell if I deliver. I need to just keep that clean...

    Question on truck step rails...

I've figured out darn near everything over the years doing this, and of course with some help from you folks too, but wanted to ask the group if you have any tips for keeping truck/SUV step rails...

    Re: Tire Dressing Applicators?

LOVE that airbrush method but don't have one.

I have a customer who specifies Griots dressing and his vehicle is a 2021 Ram 1500 with "knobby" off road type tires.

    I never apply dressing...

Re: Center cooling hole in foam pads

I would guess no. If you consider the rotation and movement of the machine action with 50% overlapping passes you're still working 100% of the surface.

    Re: What I'm doing wrong???

I would want to either include or exclude Texchappy's question.

Carefully inspect the fine scratches before working that section. Then reinspect after and see if they conform to your wipe off...

    Re: Drying Towel Scratches

I never use waffle weave MF drying towels since finding PFM's. I do use them for sills and glass.

    Re: I hate black

I hear ya, Nate. My '07 335i coupe was Black Sapphire metallic and exactly like you talk about.

    Looked gorgeous when mastered though.

At the time ('07), the non metal BMW black had a rep for...

  15. Re: BLACKFIRE One Step Topped with PBL Surface Coating - 2019 Chevy Impala

Mike, just a clarification for the BF 1 step. Do you do the entire vehicle and then return to where you started for wipe off? That's my usual practice with cleaner waxes/sealants.

    For me that...

Nice results 627PCfan! Feels good to do that, doesn't it?
  18. Re: Car carpet extraction washing on uneven surfaces?

I go in the direction of the "speed bump". I also have a crevice attachment that finishes out those areas.

Basically, you want as much residue and moisture out of the material uniformly.

    Edit:...

Re: Your favorite Car Wash Soap

Ducksfan, trust me...it sees heat and direct sun in Tampa but i've never had it spot or streak after drying.

I should clarify. I always keep ALL sides wet when I'm washing i.e. no panel dries. I...

    Re: Garage Storage Ideas

I like to keep my detailing liquids inside the house. Heat and cold don't play well with them. I also keep my pads inside. The FL heat has turned some old foam to dust.

    Everything else is kept...

    Duragloss 902. $34/128 oz or $3.76/oz.

I use maybe 4-6 oz per wash in my foam gun on the 4th proportioner setting.

    Love the results.
