    Re: Washing Car With Brush

What color is your car? If it is black then it is risky. If it is a light color that will not show swirls as much as black then you can test it on the bottom of a quarter panel and see if it works....

Re: To use SiO2 or not

Agree 100% with this. I use spray wax weekly over Collinite and it is both simple to wipe off and the finish remains glossy indefinitely, assuming you wipe it down with spray wax on a regular basis....

Re: ONR in QD dilution hard to wipe

How old is the 915? I never had this problem with ONR.

Any particular reason you're using a QD on freshly washed paint? I use spray wax instead which provides significant lubrication. Even...

Re: CR Spotless or other DI water systems

We have a softener and I used to use soft water for rinse and the spots do wipe off easier but I wanted spot free because of the sun. Spot free is definitely easier to work with.

CR Spotless or other DI water systems

I have my own home-made DI (de-ionized water) system but this is relevant to CR Spotless, Simple Chucks or any other DI system. My objective in this post is to suggest how to save a lot of money on...

Re: Drying: Waffle or Microfiber, you prefer?

Kills two birds with one stone. Spray wax on a damp or wet car does not diminish the effectiveness of the wax. The wax is nanometers thick, the water particles are millimeters thick.

Re: Drying: Waffle or Microfiber, you prefer?

Agree, I also use a drying agent (spray wax) as a lubricant and for added protection.

Re: Vacmaster Beast or Rigid Wet Dry Vac?

I've had multiple Ridgid 6.5HP models which I use for everything, including yardwork. No issues.
  13. Re: I've tried all kinds of waxes and sealants and I keep going back to Collinite 476.

Same here. I hit mine with spray wax as a drying agent weekly, too. Spray wax is OCW+FastWax.

    Re: Water experts please

For all intents and purposes. RODI (reverse osmosis de-ionized) water is almost equivalent to distilled water, free of any salts and dissolved solids that would cause spotting.

    The CR uses a...

    Re: Water experts please

I built my own DI (twice) and the resin is very expensive. That said, I run two rinse hoses, one from the tap which is very hard in my area and one from the DI which is absolutely spotless. I only...
  16. Re: Best bang for the buck trim restorer available?

I agree for restoration however I feel that it needs some sort of protectant to augment it. It brings back faded trim pretty well in my experience.

    Re: McKee's 37 Headlight Coating

I use McKees, Optimum and Dr. Beasley's. I bought all three at various times when they were on sale here. For sure, for sure, for sure, you need to prep the lens and strip it of all degraded...
  18. Re: List your wax's / sealants what you like and don't like.

476s and Fusion for paste, FastWax+OCW for spray.
  19. Re: Video: 10-month ceramic coating update! + Chemical torture test!

Been reading this thread with great interest. This is really a relevant point. Can't you take any product and apply a competent topping on a regular basis and it will offer the same results?

    Re: Large Purchases

Much will depend on your state and local parameters. In California it is pretty easy to get started to be a sole proprietorship. Just get an EIN from the IRS, file a fictitious business name in...

    Re: Tire shine driveway stains

Very nice idea! I'm going to try that. I have those curved spongy applicators but they are a pain to use. The brush looks like a winner.

Re: Removing a Dealer Sticker, Need Help

You might have to get the VOC-compliant (a little more expensive) version if you're in California or other restrictive state (I am). But, this stuff works well. If this doesn't work then you don't...

  25. Re: Toyota Paint Protective Film Preferred Sealant?

We have "Toyota" PPF on our hybrid RAV4. I waxed it with 476s and then use OCW weekly as a drying agent and it has stayed in nice shape for 1.5 years, parked outside all-year in NorCal. I...
