  1. Re: Prevent morning freeze on the windshield

I don't think there is anything which would prevent the frost from developing other than covering it with something like a tarp or blanket if you don't have a garage or carport.

    If there is...

Re: Can you Believe this is a Hyundai

I'll be curious to see how they distinguish between the Palisade and the GV80. The Palisade is already loaded up with every luxury item imaginable. All that is left is maybe some additional tech or...

Re: Question about automatic car wash

I used Klasse SG and Collinite 845 on my cars for a number of years and only saw a little degradation from the harsh soaps used in our touchless car washes. Over the warmer months when I'm hand...

Re: Can you Believe this is a Hyundai

Interesting. Looking at the 2019 rule book for SCCA Solo I see they did put the Veloster N in D Street. Before looking it up, I would have thought you were accidentally placed in the wrong class. ...

Re: Regular wax on rims. ??

I was referring to CQuartz UK. The sample bottle is much less than Gtechnic, yet still has enough to do a second coat or a coat on another set of wheels.

CQUK on my last set of wheels easily...

Re: Can you Believe this is a Hyundai

You can always track the kit car and autocross the Veloster! With nothing but a good set of tires it would probably do really well in its stock class.

Re: 2019 Fall Dragon Run, pics and stories

    I appreciate the tip.

What was the wildlife situation like? I typically like to do my back road runs right after dawn since I'm less likely to meet a raccoon, possum, porcupine, coyote,...

Re: 2019 Fall Dragon Run, pics and stories

That whole part of the state looks to be littered with great driving roads. I could see myself easily doing a road trip to the area and never actually driving the Dragon, simply to avoid the tourist...

Re: Regular wax on rims. ??

Agree. Coating is the way to go. I've coated a couple sets of wheels and it makes them much easier to clean.

You can't find them at AG, but at least one coating vendor who sells coatings here...
  10. Re: Thinking of getting a black car, that crazy?

The biggest thing to remember when owning a black car is you can't let it own you and suck enjoyment out of your life. It will get dirty. Pollen will collect and start to show AS YOU'RE DRYING IT. ...
  11. Re: Thinking of getting a black car, that crazy?

Staying on top of things and being careful is the key to keeping a black car looking good. It really isn't that hard.

I'm now on my second black metallic car. Metallic paint will hide a few...

Re: Used Sonax Cutmax for the first time

You were able to get those results in one step? How hard is Infiniti paint?

How aggressive is Cut Max compared to other compounds you've used?

Re: CQ UK 3.0 flash time

I think each version of UK has lengthened the flash time. I noticed a significant difference between v2.0 and v3.0. I never used the original, but found the flash time on v2.0 to be about perfect;...

Re: Yay? OR Nay? 1950 Ford Custom

How well do you like polishing chrome? Looks like there is a lot to do between the grill and the trim pieces.

Looking at it strictly from a work perspective it could be a fun job. The actual...

Re: CQ UK 3.0 flash time

    A very long time.

I helped a friend coat his car two weeks ago and the temps in my garage were in the 60's. Depending on how thick the coating was applied we waited upwards of 10 minutes or...

    Re: 1965 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2

Wow! What an amazing job on a beautiful car.

Of the 60 hours spent on the entire vehicle were 30 on those wheels? I don't know if I'd have the patience to polish them out to the level they...
  17. Re: The current Ford GT...is it a "real" Ford?

A joint venture is probably the best way to think about it and the level of effort by all parties depends on the project. In the case of the Ford GT, we can see what appears to be Ford employees...

Re: Getting Into the Little Areas

I do a combination of what Mike and SWETM have suggested. For the area around the windows I'll spray some QD or a WW on a MF towel and then jam it in the edge to clean out those areas, but I don't...
  19. Re: The current Ford GT...is it a "real" Ford?

I wouldn't call it a Ford plant. Ford might have some production space on site. Multimatic is a large company with customers all over the racing world. The are large partners in the Mazda factory...
  20. Re: The current Ford GT...is it a "real" Ford?

The coach building analogy is a good one. To be honest, these days most cars are simply a conglomeration of sub-assemblies built by a vast industry of suppliers. The folks at many of the auto...
  21. Re: The current Ford GT...is it a "real" Ford?

I say it is 100% Ford. It wouldn't exist if they didn't design/engineer/create it. Even the race cars Multimatic builds (like the Mazda DPi car) are all based on other other platforms. They simply...

Re: Griots One Step Sealant Mini-Review

At the 2-month point it was totally gone, so it probably need to be re-done at the six-week point. While there is some variance, AIO's in general don't last as nearly long as a quality dedicated...
