Re: Recommendations for new car products

You may decide how much you want to spend and take it from there.

Re: Anyone still use old school combos?

HD Speed with FK1000p over that. I’ll use 476s on my door jambs and wheels, ( I have a bit of it left).
  3. Re: Underrated/Overlooked: Meguiar’s Hybrid Paint Coating

evo77, thanks for the write-up. It'll be interesting to see how it handles winter.

    Re: Wolfgang FUZION Spray wax

I’ve used the Fuzion paste wax in the past. It does look outstanding, lasts about 2 months for me.

    Re: Windshield Help

A wipe-down of the blades with alcohol will clean the gunk from them.

Re: Waterless Wash quantity per car?

I’ve used ONR, D114, UWW in the past. I’m now using up my gallon of Pinnacle w/carnauba. D114 seems to clean the best, but I’m running out of my last gallon. UUW and Pinnacle seem slickest.

    Frothe...

Re: Price of goods on the rise.

The price of gasoline is an issue.

For homeowners, the cost increase of electricity and natural gas is a bigger issue.

With the current half-wits in charge, "you ain't seen nothin' yet".

Re: Waterless Wash quantity per car?

I've also stopped doing waterless. It's about the same effort to do a rinseless. I also pre-soak panels first, even with rinseless.

I only do it at home, with access to water.

    I'll use the...

Re: What's your MF towel washing routine?

Wash with 3d Towel Clean, vinegar in softener compartment. Sanitary cycle. Hang dry.

There was a huge thread on the old Autopia forum about microfiber care.

And, yes, I know that some...

Re: Which paste wax is easiest to remove???

No matter which you choose, a thin application is the key. I'll touch the pad to a side window to see if it leaves wax on it. If it does, I don't need to add more.
  11. Re: Underrated/Overlooked: Meguiar’s Hybrid Paint Coating

I may try this next spring.

Re: Sonax Ceramic Ultra Slick Detailer

It doesn't play too well with my F1000p. It's grabby. No streaks, though. I'll use it under the hood.
  13. Re: A topic that has been beaten to DEATH - ONR vs. N-914

I find that sales are a good time to try new WW’s. I’ll buy a small bottle, then a gallon if I really like it.

Right now I’m working on a gallon of Pinnacle WW. It works great as a rinseless (1...

    Re: Griot's Foaming Surface Prep

It didn't touch the FK1000p. I've been using the BOSS foamer with the Surface Wash and PolyGloss since it came out. No issues with the other products.

No aftermath, just used a wet mitt and wiped...

    Re: Griot's Foaming Surface Prep

I couldn't get it to work for me. I'm guessing it didn't play well with my F1000p.

    Re: Griot's Foaming Surface Prep

Re: Master Blaster MB-3CD vs 36V Leaf Blower ?

My Greenworks 80 volt cordless is outstanding. Real power, enough to completely dry my car on a full charge, including the wheels and tires.

I won’t go back to a corded blower.
  20. Re: Meguiar's Synthetic X-Press Spray Wax vs Duragloss AW

The older version is an excellent product. It’s also forgiving in cooler weather, no streaks.

I tried the Surface Prep numerous times and it streaked for me. I gave it away.

    Re: Layering?

    One way to find out.

I’ve gone to 2 coats of FK1000p in the spring and the same in the fall. In between, I’ll wash with Griots Surface Wash then PolyGloss. If I can, I’ll do a rinse-less wash in...
