Re: Steps before going into polishing

Squeegees are good for the glass so use it for that. On the paint it’s too risky to drag any particle left behind and will scratch badly.
You got it on iron-x. Definitely a good idea if you want...

    Re: wheel coating recommendation

Damn, with such complex spoke design this will be a lot of work. Wheels like that are better done with a sprayer but then it would have to be a pro doing it.

Re: Steps before going into polishing

Definitely no squeegee on the paint.
And is there a reason you’re skipping Iron-X before claying? New cars can come with a lot of iron deposits from transportation. I think it’s worth doing that....

    Re: wheel coating recommendation

Rim, Dlux, C5 are all good coatings. I went with Dlux as it’s more versatile and can be used on plastic and trim as well.
  5. Re: Best lighting to purchase to see imperfections (swirl marks, scratches, dents etc)(

You can polish just the area that needs it but you must then reapply whatever LSP you had on there. Easier with a sealant or wax than a coating. Polishing will remove whatever LSP you used.
  6. Re: Best lighting to purchase to see imperfections (swirl marks, scratches, dents etc)(

Excess product one must wipe off when applying ceramic coating to a car.

Re: Fuzion paste wax help on black........

Yeah. Detail spray will help remove it, at least at that time. Depending on how much product was used it may return again with heat. Eventually it stops.

Fuzion should look amazing on your car.

Re: Fuzion paste wax help on black........

I bet you used too much product. It’s ok though, after it sweats a few times give it a wash and all should be good after that.

    Re: Masking for Iron-X

I just don’t spray those parts on purpose but if a little bit gets there I’m not worried about it.

Re: Not sure if I have an issue

I would think pressure is not the issue since you said it’s rotating but not oscillating. Pressure causes the opposite, the pad oscillates but stops spinning.

If it’s under warranty call Rupes. ...

    Re: Introducing Autogeek Reward Miles

They will probably still do those. Autopia has had the same rewards program for as long as i remember and run similar sales to Autogeek. And with price matching on both it shouldn’t be an issue to...

    Re: Color Mismatch

In that case I’d ask them to try again. If it’s just as bad maybe file a dispute with credit card, that difference in color is not acceptable.

    Re: Introducing Autogeek Reward Miles

If it was retroactive a lot of people here would instantly get a platinum status with million miles :p
  16. Re: Help match my pads to my polishes for new GG 6''

Try 205 with white pad first, if that’s not enough cut then 205 with orange pad. If that’s still not enough you’ll need 105 with orange followed by 205 with white to clean up the haze left by...
  17. Sticky: Re: Video: Mark your backing plate to make it easy to see pad rotation

I also add more than 1 mark. My OCD does not like the lack of symmetry when adding just one line.
  18. Re: Help match my pads to my polishes for new GG 6''

Definitely clay. And before that use Carpro iron-x. M105 and 205 are good but you need more pads. Can’t get a car done properly with one pad of each color. Maybe 5 of each color, orange and white...

Yeah, their glass coating is tough to remove, good arm workout for sure. But the coating works well.

Re: Is there more then just autogeek?

I don’t think you’ll get an answer for that. They are all about the same and sell similar products that are likely super close in formulation so they cover all bases because people prefer a specific...

Re: Is there more then just autogeek?

Not McKee’s 37. When Robert McKee sold PBMG he took that brand under RME and the Marine line too. He still owns the facility where PBMG operates from but not the business anymore.

    But Autogeek,...

Re: Gliss V2 and lint...is it salvageable?

I think Gliss over UK is almost a must because it changes the grabby feeling to slick feeling. But since you already applied Reload read the FAQ posted by the Guz. Maybe if it’s been a while Reload...

I think the gift card balance can only be used at Amazon. Amazon pay is just a federation that AG uses so you don’t have to have an account there or give them your credit card info. You’ll have to...

Re: Gliss V2 and lint...is it salvageable?

I think you’ll be fine. I also found Gliss v2 to crate a ton of static and everything wanted to stick to it. But then it all goes back to normal after all that wiping. When you wash the lint...
