  1. Re: Compounding when there’s touch up paint on hood...

Terrible job by the owner. You might be compounding for a while. I think wet sanding would be easier and deliver better results.

Re: $150 for work light / defect finder

Sure. Especially when you can pick yellow or white light based on the color of the car and then control the amount of light coming out. It's not just 2 levels like many lights out there, it's...

Multimatch R is pretty sweet. I got that as a b-day gift this year. Very well made.

Pretty much same as yours. 2017 SE turned 18K miles yesterday. 6 speed manual. Stock other than filter and a couple changes via OBD Eleven.

Re: Hyundai Veloster R-Spec Vs. Ford Fiesta ST

I don’t want to jinx myself but I’ve had mine for almost 2.5 years now, not a single issue. It still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.

    Re: Cause of water spots

Your dishwasher has a product in it to help it dry with no spots.
For the car you’d need deionized water. CR Spotless is one brand but there are others out there.
The sun makes the water evaporate...

Re: Hyundai Veloster R-Spec Vs. Ford Fiesta ST

Agreed. $25k should be able to get you a 2019 GTI. This year the VWs come with a 6 year warranty. Next year that will change to 4 year warranty (but include 2 years of maintenance).
    The GTI is a...

Veloster because that one is not about to go extinct in the US
  10. Re: Review: Griot's G9 Random Orbital Polisher by Mike Phillips

Yes, an optional 25ft cord can be purchased.
  11. Re: Review: Griot's G9 Random Orbital Polisher by Mike Phillips

Thanks for the review Mike. This G9 seems so awesome it almost makes me wish I didn’t have a Boss G15. This is a great tool for the enthusiast that will have a single polisher because he/she...

    Re: They’re back! Love Bugs!

In PA we’re struggling with spotted lantern flies. They’re not a harm to cars but to our trees. We’re asked to kill as many as we can every day.

Re: Mystery gift Labor Day 2019

Interesting, I thought the minimum threshold was before the coupon. That's how it works for the free shipping minimum, you barely cross that and apply coupon which makes the total less but still...

    Re: Griots New G9 Polisher

With them doing this upgrade offer and getting a bunch of GG6 back from people, they will have plenty of machines to refurbish and use those on warranty claims. They'll probably say you can pay...

I’m pretty sure they’d just send you some brushes if you ran out and that seemed like the issue.

    Re: Griots New G9 Polisher

I guess if it’s $100 out the door it’s not bad. Because it seems to include shipping both ways and tax on that so it’s probably close enough to just avoid the hassle trying to sell your old one. ...

    Re: Griots New G9 Polisher

Hmm, so they're only paying $49 for the GG6. I know that's probably good if you've had it for a long time but if it's fairly new I think one could get better money for it on a detailing group on FB...

  20. Re: Picture of Road Film Dirt Stained Paint Ceramic Coating

Thanks Mike. That's why I say I'm fine if my coating lasts me 18 months, after that period one should consider polishing anyways. A 5, 7, 9 year coating as some advertise is useless if you might...

    Re: Griots New G9 Polisher

Looks pretty cool. Would be nice if it could use 3.5” pads. As it is this is a great machine for the enthusiast that only plans on having a single polisher. I agree that the standard backing plate...

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

    Clean it really well first.
Yesterday I parked next to a mk7.5 so either 18 or 19 and it looked all grey and stained. My 17 looked way nicer :)

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Actually yes, if it’s not the exact same product it’s really similar.
Perhaps yours was too faded already when you tried? On mine I’ve used this since the car was brand new and have always had good...
