Rob here or on DW I forgot said it can be applied over coatings as it does not form a "physical" bond but more chemical bond. + to - I guess to simplify.

Exo can be put over other coatings to give it a wax-like look and better water properties.

Just make sure you re-lube the hinge points....1z Gel Lube (The stuff they sell for chains) is awesome for this as it coats the points well and stays there.

I have some BF metal sealant which I have no problem using...but I also have some OC and well heck if I can use it I might as well. If it does not really bond to it because I know OC bonds to clear...
