  1. Re: New Graphene product from IGL and maybe carpro?

FWIW, and it's only relevant to the Art d' Shine/SPS product, their chemist (Albert Yow) had this to say about the hydrophobics related to their graphene coating:

    And it seems that the...

Re: The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

[emoji1] Assembling the garage for Winter is like doing a puzzle. Gotta leave enough room to get to important stuff like snowblower, floor jack, rolling garbage bins while leaving enough distance to...

Re: 2020 Tesla 3 in for GYEON Coating

Would be nice if they offered that a a separate product (which would make the Syncro kinda kit obsolete) but a boy can dream, no? :D

    Re: SEMA 2020/2021 New Products

A few interesting things from Gyeon:

"Gyeon Show" : GYEON SHOW - DAY 1 - YouTube

...kinda the virtual equivalent of this years SEMA?

Direct to: Quartz, Glass or Ceramic: GYEON SHOW - DAY 1 -...
  6. Re: PPF specific coatings vs “normal” paint coatings on PPF feedback

The Kami Surface Film Coat they put on our PPF was really slick too, never really thought about it much before. Is that a common characteristic of these types of coatings?

    Re: Gyeon Syncro

I gave Gyeon One a go when it first came out, February 2018 ( I believe it was released at 2017 SEMA in November of that year). I don't know if they re-formulated it a bit since then but it was kinda...

Re: I put my money where my mouth is

I wouldn't put too much faith in it self healing anything more than very fine scratches. Even as 'thick' as this coating is at 4-6 μm (roughly 0.236 mils) it still falls far short of self-healing PPF...

    Re: 303 Graphene

I don't pretend to understand the science; here's a bit from one of the minds behind a Graphene coating released last year:

"A little bit from Alfred Yow, the mind behind the Art d’ Shine/SPS...

    Re: 303 Graphene

One of the promised (i.e. 'hoped for') benefits of graphene is it's ability to insulate/reduce the temperature of the panel with the end goal of reducing water spots. Many find this to not be the...
  14. Re: How long does a Graphene coating stay slick?

The SPS Graphene I used on my daily driver (applied 05/2019) remained slick w/ moderate maintenance attention for about 3 months and then the slickness lessened a bit. I didn't begin maintaining it...

What toppers were you playing around with?
  16. Re: Is Graphene the next big thing for coatings?

    Looks great on your car!

As always, will be blathering endlessly about it as time progresses: SPS Graphene Coating and Ethos Graphene Matrix Coating | Life's tough, wear a helmet.
  17. Re: Attention 90’s kids... look what I detailed!

Were ya searching for something nice to say about it as opposed to the more appropriate "A Cavalier tattoo??? I'm *sure* it seemed like a good idea at the time!"

  18. Re: Is Graphene the next big thing for coatings?

Eh, I'm removing ISM 2.0 from my trunk and hood to try the Ethos on 'em. Trunk had a stain that I KNOW was gone prior to coating but after sitting outside in the sun for a few days, re-appeared. The...
  19. Re: Is Graphene the next big thing for coatings?

One of the sticking points for me was that the SPS was a great coating from May thru December, even when I Ignored it for the most part and didn't top it with anything. Come Spring 2020 though...
  20. Re: Attention 90’s kids... look what I detailed!

FWIW, while I thought the Z-24's were cool for what they were (a more obtainable Z-28?) that's not really my arm w a Cavalier tattoo

It's definitely SOMEBODY'S arm with a Cavalier tattoo,...

    Re: PPF care questions

I'd guess that's the same theory as not topping a coating w/ waxes, sealants or silicone due to the 'kinda hydrophobic coating' built into the film itself.

    This.

    Re: PPF care questions

We had wife's toy completely wrapped in STEK Dynoshield in April 2019. They coated it with a film-specific coating and other than that, I just maintain it with ceramic-infused sealants. I'm too...
  24. Re: What's everyone's thoughts on the Covid-19 situation?

My thoughts? Well, since you asked:

    1. What we know for certain, undeniable and irrefutable facts: It kills people. Aside from that I'm not sure we KNOW anything for sure. Lotsa theories, lotsa...
  25. Re: Beautiful 911 in Gentian Blue Metallic get's coated

And I am also afraid to...
