Re: New mid engine Corvette. July 18th.

I have to agree, but I'd say GM designs have been lacking for more than 20 years. Nothing they've made has really excited me, which is a shame. I even owned a Pontiac during the 90's, but that was...

Re: New mid engine Corvette. July 18th.

I don't know if I'd agree with you regarding the Mustang and Camero seating four people. I recently test drove a Mustang, and even at being only 5'9" and using a pretty upright seating position, I...

I'm with you there. I don't get that at all.

Re: New mid engine Corvette. July 18th.

I'm with you on this one. The C7 design was a fairly big departure from the C6 design and I was hoping since this is a totally new animal, mechanically and platform-wise, the design would be a...

    Re: Cleaning tires and rims

This depends on the type of vehicle, e.g. front wheel drive vs. rear wheel drive vs all wheel drive. A quick Google search on tire rotation pattern should give you a diagram from TireRack which...

    Re: Cleaning tires and rims

Are you asking if the lifts are stable and safe? The four post lifts I've seen and used are very stable and safe. The key is to properly lift the vehicle. Any accidents most likely come from the...

    Re: Cleaning tires and rims

A good set of brushes are critical to keeping your wheels in good shape. The other side of that equation is actually cleaning them frequently so there isn't a buildup of brake dust and grime which...
  8. Re: Do you use different pads for different color vehicles?

I let the paint be my guid rather than it's color.

On hard German paint I can go with a mild compound an a medium pad and get it LSP ready in one step. On soft paint I can do all the correction...

Re: So this increased my MPG

On a modern engine won't the two cycle oil mixed with the fuel foul the injectors? There might be some unknown mileage benefit, but I'd be worried about adverse effects on the fuel system due to...
  10. Re: Is ceramic coating or paint correction necessary for me?

I started on my own car as well and first used the McKee's 37 Paint Coating. It's very user friendly and was good product to learn the process. Polishing will remove the coating, so I only polish...
  11. Re: Is ceramic coating or paint correction necessary for me?

No, I do not have it done professionally. I do all the work my self and have on several of my vehicles, at least one of them more than once. I will wash the vehicle, clay, polish it out, wipe down...
  12. Re: Is ceramic coating or paint correction necessary for me?

Whole heartedly agree. In a climate where a vehicle is constantly exposed to weather, coatings are the way to go. They will also stay clean a bit longer as grime doesn't cling as easily.

    Re: First time snorkeling

I agree it makes diving hard. It might also get snagged on coral and rocks and deflate depending on where your a snorkelling. When I lived in Hawaii there were some areas with deep pools surrounded...

Re: Can you Believe this is a Hyundai

The Equus is now several generations old. It was replaced/renamed to the G90 a few years ago and has undergone at least one, if not two, refreshes since. The design is more brick-lick, but that is...

    Re: Collinite 845 over PNS?

The spray waxes/sealants I used, like most, really don't offer more than a week or two of protection on their own. QD's may have a little wax or sealant in them, but they offer little to no...

    Re: Collinite 845 over PNS?

I would maintain Collinite 845 by keeping it clean and would typically do a post-wash wipe down with a QD or spray wax to eliminate water spots. I could get 5-ish months out of 845 in harsh winter...

    Re: First time snorkeling

Great point. I lived in Hawaii for two years and simply bought sporting goods store-grade gear and it served me very well for the multitude of days I went snorkeling. Since moving away they collect...

    Re: Collinite 845 over PNS?

Since both are high quality, long lasting sealants I'd pick one or the other and not worry about layering.

I have very little experience with PNS, but everyone talks about how it behaves very much...

Re: Long Term Wear of Ceramic Coatings?

First, the easy question. After a couple of years when you want to try something new, you will need to mechanically remove it with a polisher. The coatings are so durable, even after several years,...

    Re: First time snorkeling

I too always used a style like the bottom one. I don't know if I ever saw one like the top picture, but my gear was always pretty low end. I never shopped the serious dive stores.

    I will second...
  22. Re: Not what you think: Anyone layer CanCoat on top of CQuartz UK?

Great idea! I always just hit them with a WW, but there is no reason not to coat those areas to help them stay cleaner longer.
  23. Re: Not what you think: Anyone layer CanCoat on top of CQuartz UK?

Thanks everyone for the input. I'll probably give it a try.

I certianly will, it's just a matter of which product. I'll prioritize the vehicle paint and use what remains on the wheels. Just...
  24. Not what you think: Anyone layer CanCoat on top of CQuartz UK?

Just to set expectations. I'm asking this question not because I'm into layering products, I'm just trying to find creative use to eliminate built up inventory.

Right now I have a can of CanCoat...
