Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

The Buick got the full treatment with Mothers CMX, Tuf Shine Tire coating and the interior with Gyeon LeatherShield Q2. We are ready for winter.

Re: The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

A two bucket wash with Megs Hyperwash, dried with Griots PFM, topped with Mothers CMX, the tires were treated with Duragloss. The exterior windows were cleaned with Invisible Glass and the interior...
  3. Re: Griot's Garage PFM Terry Weave Towel, not exactly that soft ?!...

The softest and most plush towel is not always the best. The Griots PFM does feel a bit rough compared to the Big Blue drying towel but nothing matches the PFM for absorbency. I can dry my entire...

Re: Best way to apply 303 protectant?

I always use two different colored towels; one for applying product and one for removing product. A foam applicator is another good idea for applying and a towel for removing. Always make sure that...

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

The tires got dirty today while I was at a power plant. I may as well clean the whole car while I am at it. I started with a Wolfgang Uber rinseless wash and ended up with a Wolfgang Fuzion Spray...

    Re: How to remove Aquapel

I never had a problem with Aquapel probably because I did not follow their directions. They suggest using paper towels to buff off the product. To me that is a major mistake. Paper towels can scratch...

    Re: Easy Winter LSP

Any spray on, rinse off product would be the easiest but I don't think that it will get you through a winter here in Southern New England. A good coat of Collinite 845 would last longer. I apply it...

    Re: Thoughts on using waterblades

    Windows and moon roofs only.
  10. Re: Searching for the best sealant as stand alone product

My personal favorites are Collinite 845 and Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant.

Re: What's the last form of exercise you've done?

I elected to go through physical therapy rather than surgery for my torn ACL. I have been going twice a week since July 9 and the physical therapy has worked wonders. Rachel put together a regimen of...

    Re: Eldorado2K, checking on you...?

Good luck with the car Ric. We are looking forward to seeing the transformation pictures. It probably feels good to be out there working on cars again.

Re: Anyone here save soap/wash water?

I would never consider doing this, but in places like Arizona, Colorado, Nevada or southern California where water is precious, it is a great idea.

Re: What did you do today non-detailing related?

The left side of the bumper was starting to rust and pit, so I polished it with Wolfgang metal polish and sealed it with CQuartz DLUX. It was only temporary and I have a confession to make. I changed...

    Re: Detailing On the Road

I actually do have the Worx Hydroshot and I often bring it with me. There was a time when the car was full of bird droppings and the Hydroshot blasted it off. That was the time when the nice kid at...

    Detailing On the Road

I am sure that most of us have the same OCD issues with our vehicles whether it is at home or on the road. I travel frequently for my job and I hate to have my customers see a dirty car. I always...

Re: Diving in! Shopping list critique.

You have some great products there. 3D HD is a great low dusting polish that is easy to remove. The Porter Cable 7424XP is a great starter machine and it will serve you well. You may want to upgrade...
  23. Re: How much product needed to do headlight restorations for multiple people?

McKees makes a headlight restoration kit that it easy to use and there is no wet sanding involved. All you need is a power drill.

    Re: aquapel and water spots

Brand new glass can be very dirty from the factory and also during transport. Windex is also not a very good glass cleaner for auto glass since it is ammonia based. Invisible Glass is a better choice.
