    Re: Ceramic coat on guitars...

    Excellent!

Glen is such a great guy too.

Rikki was a big inspiration when I was 11. I played along to Look What The Cat Dragged In almost daily.

I use Optimum Car Wax on my dw collectors series exotic, ebony stained birdseye maple, and Opti-Seal on my dw collectors ultra white oyster wrap.

I have some Paiste Signature cymbals that I put...

    Re: Show Car Wax/Sealant

I'd more than likely use Optimum Car Wax.

Mostly for it's ease of use. I suspect the spray on/wipe off nature of application, might reduce the risk of marring.

It also seems to look great,...

Re: Products for maintaining Optimum Gloss Coat

I've got Optimum Gloss Coat on gf's new Jeep, Opti-Seal on my car and truck, and on my Moms car.

They get washed with ONR. It there's a lot of salt I'll power wash first.

    Intend to use...

Re: 3D Bead It Up - Product Description

I got mine this past spring.

I really like it! Super easy to use, very slick, durable, smells good - a bit intense, but good.

Unfortunately, I don't have a vehicle available to test it's...

Re: Where do you store your stuff?

I have equipment and all my overflow at my house. That's "home base, where my drums are, etc.

At the better half's place, that actually where I work out of. I have my Rupes/CarPro set up, my...

Re: Newby Asking for Polish Advice

I was able to adjust the nozzles on mine, that when combined with strategic distancing from the pad when spraying, doesn't get anywhere except the intended placement.

I also don't use it with...

Re: Newby Asking for Polish Advice

M09 was about the only one you had that would play nice with the Porter Cable.

I see you picked up the Hyper Polish, which is one of my absolute favorites.

In the event you need a heavier...

Re: CarPro Reset or Megs HyperWash?

Those are the two we use at the shop.

Hyper Wash is for everything that comes through the door, and Reset is for maintenance washes.

I personally prefer Reset, but at home I only use ONR, or...
  15. Re: Finally investing in my own polishing equipment.

It's kind of an "all roads lead to Rome" situation though. The jobs get done, and the vehicles look beautiful. The owner tends to give me the more difficult, heavily damaged vehicles. Or, he did....
  16. Re: Finally investing in my own polishing equipment.

    Ha!

I'm a bit reluctant to offer technical advise any more because observing the two other technicians I work with has been a stark revelation that everyone is wildly different in their approach. ...

Re: Thoughts/Opinions about 3D HD Poxy?

Super easy to use, smells fantastic, and holds up pretty well.

One of the local high end shops uses it for their non coating jobs.
  19. Re: Finally investing in my own polishing equipment.

Consider standing where you are with the G9, the Perfect Finish, maybe get some Yellow Buff and Shine Uro-Tec foam pads (similar to Rupes yellow), and pick up some Uro-Fiber for heavier cutting. A...

Re: Microfiber pads - your experience?

Generally, fiber pads cut harder than foam. At the shop, we normally use the orange for an aggressive polishing process when we want a good finish.

    I usually use Uro-Fiber pads.
