Sorry to hear of your accident but happy to hear you're okay.

  2. Re: Windshield coating - skipping wipers (new car)

No, not new cars, just older stuff that uses glass mirrors.

New cars usually don't need the side mirror buffed as in most cases they are somewhat sheltered from the world.

    I'm trying to think...

I feel your pain -Bill Clinton

I feel your paint -Mike Phillips :D

Seriously... I feel your pain. I think your process "could" work, you won't know until you try.

If you go the route you...
  4. Re: Are there any color match lights not made in china?

I think SCANGRIP are made in Denmark - and China.

    Their "about us" page reads,

  7. Re: What pads to use with 3D One Hybrid?

About a year and 2 months ago I used it on and old 2-door Chevy. The swirls and scratches were light/shallow but the paint was rock hard.

For this paint I used the LC 6.5" Orange Force Hybrid...
  8. Re: What pads to use with 3D One Hybrid?

Depends on if I'm working on severely neglected paint or light/shallow defects.

The most recent car I detailed using 3D One was this old 2-door Dodge. Here's a picture of the pads I used. ...
  9. Re: I donít think a traditional hose wash is gentler than rinseless!

Feels good to let it go...

I think we can all have a process that works best for us and our process, opinion and experience can be "right".

I've never been a fan of rinseless...

    What is it?

A water based tire coating - not a dressing.

If you get one of the above or something like them - get a 5" backing plate and then invest your "Pad Money" into smaller, thinner pads.

The Griot's G9 comes with a 6" backing plate and it has...

  14. Re: 2006 Toyota Sequoia - Comet Wash - Extreme Makeover - BLACKFIRE One Step

Good questions. "Yes" I have used it on colored cars but ALL were SINGLE STAGE. It's important that everyone understands this.

  15. Re: 2006 Toyota Sequoia - Comet Wash - Extreme Makeover - BLACKFIRE One Step

Washing oxidized headlights with Comet will chew or abrade "some" of the dead, oxidized plastic off but you're correct - if you're already planning on sanding them then washing first with Comet would...
  16. Re: 2006 Toyota Sequoia - Comet Wash - Extreme Makeover - BLACKFIRE One Step

Thank you for the compliment. My mom and dad instilled a good/strong work ethic in me from an early age, that is picking strawberrys and beans to pay for my own school clothes starting at the age of...
  17. Re: 2006 Toyota Sequoia - Comet Wash - Extreme Makeover - BLACKFIRE One Step

Copy that. There was a guy that lived in Albany, Oregon that had me detail his Corvette, later he moved to Eugene, Oregon and I thought I remembered he was a member of this forum or the Meguiar's...
  18. Re: Meguiar's No.7 Glaze for Single Stage - Bondo?

    Nice work Kirby!

And the paint on this 1968 Chevy Truck will easily last another 53 YEARS! :D

  19. Re: Windshield coating - skipping wipers (new car)

And "yes" - I always give the side mirror glass a wipe of the PBL Surface Coating.

Re: SONAX Glass Cleaner as a Prep Wash

    I have two answers.

1: SONAX recommends their glass cleaner for use with their Clay Pad. Their Clay Pad is basically a Nanoskin-type rubber disk replacement for normal car detailing clay. So...
