    Re: DeWalt cordless DA polisher

2.1Ē orbit diameter?! Guessing thatís a translation error somewhere along the way?

Looks like the bare tool is 5.5 lbs, then + 1-2 lbs for whichever battery you pick. How does that compare to the...

    Re: Too Much Splatter

I’ve found I really don’t spend much time above 4/4.5 on my G9.

Seems like you probably had a bit more product than you needed. You could have just done a ring or two on the pad, then done pad...
  3. Re: Using too much (wasting?) swirl remover product?

MarkD51 - What’s your approach now for priming a pad?
  4. Re: Sometimes itís not about being perfect.

    Thatís really a great idea.

Weíve got a black race car in the shop that had been wrapped before we got it. Stripped off the wrap as it wasnít our style, and found the roof was in really rough...
  5. Re: Sometimes itís not about being perfect.

    Terrific story, and amazing turnaround.

Really cool thing you did there. Now theyíll not only be able to be excited to have a car, but be proud of the car they have, which will hopefully help...

Re: Are you kidding me, dealer?!?

I also worked at a dealer for a good stint. Scarier than the detailers is the fact that the car washes were done by the rotating staff of “runners”. I’d see cars in the pick up lane that had Zebra...

    Re: Griot's G9 observation...

That's funny, because I was also wondering if I was crazy.

When I did my wife's car, it was a bit of a jam session to fit getting the whole car done in a short (for me) time span, I'm...

Re: Picked up a new car!

    Nice choice in car!

Maybe Iím just jealous since the first car I had (that ran more than 600 miles - Iím looking at you Ď87 Nova...) was an Ď85 Chevette, but it drives me nuts when parents set...

    Re: Griot's G9 observation...

Interesting. I can’t say from my time using my G9 (complete 2 step on a Q5) that I thought the vibration was excessive/notably higher with the 5” plate on it.

Throughout the course of the detail,...

Re: Just Received My GG G9

Hermes1 - Glad to hear you’re digging it!

When you mentioned you were recovering from an injury, I was thinking you’d appreciate how easy it is to handle.
I don’t remember my GG6 ever being hard...

Re: Did my first full detail with my G9

Thanks for the kind words folks.

Tony - As balanced as the machine is, can't say I'd rush to try 3" pads on it. I believe in one of their videos they covered that the counterweight is left exposed...

Did my first full detail with my G9

Got a chance this weekend to do a complete detail on my wifeís Q5. I picked up a G9 during the 1st week they were available, and had high hopes for it when doing a quick test trunk lid when it...

Re: What pads to buy for Griots G9?

Without trekking over to their site to dig through reviews, I can tell you youíve got a big advantage on your side already - Youíre on this forum polling many detailing experts/enthusiasts for their...

Re: Temporary LSP - What would you use?

My thoughts on going FK1000P for my own car vs the Mrs' is that my car has much less plastic/rubber I need to worry about keeping the FK off of.

I know, I know - all this talk about taking steps...

Re: Temporary LSP - What would you use?

Dr Oldz: I know Optimum Car Wax is a solid performer, but unfortunately it's not one on my shelf.

2Black1s: Hopefully I didn't misuse the term LSP - I hadn't meant to imply an AIO, merely a Last...

Temporary LSP - What would you use?

So hereís kind of an odd one.

Short Version: What would you use (products below in bold) to protect a decon'd car until you can do full correction and LSP'ing? Want adequate protection, but...

    Re: 8/22/19 - Microfiber Sale + 15% off

This one's over. Autogeek frequently runs sales, this is why I put the date in the title.

If you're not in a hurry, just keep an eye on the site. They'll often do 15-20% off sales and various...

Re: Just Received My GG G9

That’s pretty awesome they sent the correcting cream and a pad! Nice little surprise.

In the YouTube live video, they make it sound like a Gazelle situation (company that buys phones/tablets/etc)...

Re: Rain got in the interior

Was there standing water? If so then the worry is that the foam/padding under the carpet is soaked, and there will be pools of water under it all.

At the very least I’d vacuum it as much as you...
  23. Re: Griot's Garage G9 - 9mm Orbit Stroke Random Orbital Polisher - What's in the Box?

Thanks for the kind words. Since I'm at work, I'm going to cheat and copy-paste from a post I made at Autopia (during lunch :) ) just to share some more thoughts:

    "Iíll let Mike (Lambert) speak...
  24. Re: Griot's Garage G9 - 9mm Orbit Stroke Random Orbital Polisher - What's in the Box?

Griotís specifies on their site that that HD 3Ē isnít for use on the G9 (going as far in the Q&A section to mention that itíll void the warranty). During the YouTube live video, they mention with the...

    Re: Griots New G9 Polisher

My G9 just showed up. Initial impressions - feels good in the hands! Only had a chance to spin it up in the air, but seems like at normal working speeds it could be slightly quieter than the GG6....
