Not the lid. The part that the lid screws into that is attached to the bucket. iirc, it snaps on.

What's the serial number?

What do you do with dirty wet towels? Dry first then store until there's enough to do a load? If you dry dirty towels won't that set the stains faster? Can they be stored in a gamma sealed bucket...
