Re: Clear UV tint for the windshield

I’ve heard that some states don’t allow any film on the windshield, but how would they know if it’s clear? I think this law is for tinted plastics but it is always best to check.

    I agree it’s...

Re: Rainy days what would you guys do?

Rain leaves spots on my coated cars but the spots come off easily with a rinseless wash or a QD. Do not leave water from the tap or sprinkler to dry on your car or you may have to polish it off.

    Re: They’re back! Love Bugs!

I’m doing a 150 mile trip tomorrow and I would like to test out Bug Blocker but it’s too late to get any to me. I’ll buy some to keep around for my next trip.

    Re: Glass sweat issue

Sweating is humidity buildup. The cold air on the inside reacting to warmer more humid air on the outside. Not too much you can do except try a sealant or coating on the outside to make it slicker...

Re: Wax on top of sealant?

You could, as most things are possible, but normally the sealant goes on before the wax. The reason being the wax is not a durable as the sealant and you want your longest lasting product on the...

    Re: They’re back! Love Bugs!

We’ve got a bunch of them here in S. GA. Not a Florida bunch thank goodness. You need pictures of the lovebugs “lovin’”. Lol.

Re: Need help with Polish Angel

Dawn is for dishes! Grab a bottle of CarPro Reset for your maintenance washes.
  9. Re: Struggling with Product Selection After Ceramic Coating

The CG Afterwash doesn’t have much if any gloss enhancers so you could probably keep on using it as your drying aid. PA Cosmic Spritz is a very good ceramic topper. You could use IGL Premier...
  10. Re: Help with weird stains/marks (w/pics)

Looks like rust to me. Got any Iron-X? If it turns red it’s rust.

    Re: Ceramic Coating Removal

You should be able to correct and remove the coating in one step unless you have scratches that are deep, then you should Compound first.

    Re: Finishing polish help.

Could it be the pads you used with 3800 that caused the problem? 3800 has little cut. I’ve used it after 3500, but on hard paints rarely see a difference.

    Re: carpro IRON x questions

I put the bottle in a plastic bag and seal the bag (just an old supermarket bag). Double bag if the bags are thin. No smell escapes. I’ve also used buckets that have a sealing lid.
  14. Re: What's up with Rupes polishes directions?

    Who reads directions?
  15. Re: Friend used my dryer and dryed my mf towels lol

Towels should be fine. I’ve dried mine on normal with no damage that I could tell. I don’t do it regularly, but accidents happen.

Re: Restoring or preserving clear coat

I think that is a MX-5 Miata, not MX-3. I see the top in the pictures. I would take it to a reputable body shop and get it resprayed. Once they start peeling there is not much you can do.

    Re: 303 vs Hyper Dressing

Use HD on tires and especially on fender liners and you will use it up pretty fast.

    Re: 303 vs Hyper Dressing

I’ve been using 303 on engine bays and interiors and HD on tires. I’ve heard 303 can run when wet so I don’t use it on tires. I just mist the 303 over the engine bay and don’t bother to wipe off...

    Re: CG air fresheners

Try spraying the CG stuff into your air conditioning intake (usually in the passengers floorboard area). This will disperse the smell throughout the vehicle.

I’ve bought most of CGs scents. ...

Re: Oldie Clay Bar Question !!

For me the clay towels are much easier to work with than the old clay bars. Black Fire has a good one for not much money. Using a clay bar is tedious and if you drop it it’s trash. With a clay...
  22. Re: 1st time machine compounding, a bit disappointed

You sound like you are fairly new to detailing so I suggest a step back and go with Rupes pads and polishes. Rupes is a system and you already own their polisher. To be truthful I’ve never been a...
  23. Re: Can we cut the SiO2 coating nonsense out?

Re: Pro Tip - Wet Towel instead of tape

Great tip Mike. You need to put together a book of detailing tips and tricks to go together with your other books. Probably would be a best seller (I get 1%, lol).
