  1. Re: Washing freshly applied WG Uber Spray Coating

If you’re left with water spots and they don’t come off chemically then you need to polish again and reapply the coating.
  2. Re: Washing freshly applied WG Uber Spray Coating

Coating manufacturers recommend not using cleaning products within a week but if you’re using a ph neutral waterless your might be fine, maybe better than getting water spots. And then you can also...
  3. Re: Washing freshly applied WG Uber Spray Coating

I’d leave it dirty for a few more days then wash it.

    Happy Birthday, Chris.
  5. Re: Suggestions for working with new VW paint?

Paint is pretty hard. For any defect removal you'll want to start with something more aggressive. In my MK7 GTI to remove a scratch I have to use microfiber and Jescar Correcting Compound (I'm sure...

    Re: 2021 Porsche Macan

To be fair, until Roger mentioned the interesting choice of color and I zoomed in to see, I thought they were black too. Doesn’t help that I only saw it on my phone.

    Re: 2021 Porsche Macan

Not feeling the wheels or tan interior but your work came out great. I still like the older Macans better. These taillights don’t looks as good.

    Re: What to get/replace first.

You definitely would use a pressure washer more often but if you car needs polishing, the PW won’t help with that :p and doing by hand is crazy.

You can get a Griot’s G9 for not so much but what...
  9. Re: PLEASE HELP...I have a problem with GREEN!

No, Turbo S only in PDK.
  10. Re: PLEASE HELP...I have a problem with GREEN!

Don’t love it but on the right car I could handle that. Not many cars can pull it off, maybe a McLaren. But definitely wouldn’t be a top choice for me.
  11. Re: PLEASE HELP...I have a problem with GREEN!

Green is one of my least favorite colors. Maybe only pink and primer grey (which some call Nardo grey) are lower in my scale of preference. So we’d probably never end up trying to buy the same 911...

    Re: Washing (rinseless) fresh paint

I don’t see why a rinseless wash is a problem. Use one that won’t leave protection behind. Something like N-914 should be fine.
  13. Re: We gonna rock down to electric avenue...

Ahh, that makes more sense. Wheels are still expensive but not like PCCB.

For my brother’s new order he chose the tungsten carbide surface coated brakes (white calipers). Supposedly produces...
  14. Re: We gonna rock down to electric avenue...

Roger, my brother will be selling his Taycan 4S in January or February. Save up and you could buy it :)

He ordered a Taycan Cross Turismo (it's the wagon of the Taycan) and he's waiting for that...
  15. Re: We gonna rock down to electric avenue...

Looks nice. So it’s a base Taycan with PCCB and 21” wheels? Those upgrades alone put it into 4S price and then it would be AWD and have a decent amount more power.
  16. Re: does anyone keep a jump starter in their vehicle(s)?

I bought it May 12 and charged as soon as it arrived, a day or two after that. It lost 3% in about 6 months.

This is the one I bought: Amazon.com
  17. Re: does anyone keep a jump starter in their vehicle(s)?

I bought one back when this thread came up and this returning to the top reminded me to check the battery level in it as it's useless if not charged. The battery went from 100% to 97% in the time...

Re: Buy a ipa or make it?

CarPro Eraser is what I use. I've tried N-914 at panel wipe ratio but found it foams/suds too much. Eraser works well and smells great too.
  20. Re: What do ya'll like for windshield protectant?

I’ve been intrigued by it and might try it next time. Looks pretty easy to apply.
  21. Re: What do ya'll like for windshield protectant?

I’ve used Aquapel in the past and liked it. Then switched to McKee’s 37 Glass Coating and have used that for years, quite pleased with it. Most recently tried the latest version of CarPro FlyBy...
  22. Re: Windshield coating - skipping wipers (new car)

No, no coating is hard enough to provide that level of protection, especially on glass which is really hard to scratch on its own.

Re: Spray wax vs detailers recommendations

Of that last you were considering, I think Griot's 3-in-1 would work great as your protection during winter and then you can do a detail in the Spring.
  24. Re: Coating a White BMW X3 with Carpro SiC

It might haze a bit but it's hard to tell, it's a very clear liquid on the paint, maybe varies on paint color. But you're right, gotta try different times and see when it's still smearing a lot and...

    Re: *Your first car*

My first car, in 1999, was a Mitsubishi Lancer. Unfortunately, not an Evo.
